do you chew with your mouth open?

i know some people still chew with their mouth open, although acceptable i find it a bit unethical. i don't chew with my mouth open and i also taught my nieces and nephew not to do the same so they could not carry that manner when they grow old.
how about you? do you also teach your kids, little bros & sis not to chew with open mouth?

Its funny may be but do you want to know to reply properly to your suestion? Well, after reading your topic I was confused about myself about what i do really? Do I chew keeping mouth closed or open? I couldn't remember my habit. Than I went to eat some food (it was my lunch time and I took the break for a good additional reason) but guess what? This time I was so much conscious that i automatically chewed kepping my mouth closed so it did not work. i really am still thinkig what I do actually, i am now thiniking about my husband and all my family members but I can remember it for anyone. Seems like it is hard to chew opening mouth and I cant remember if I have seen somebody chewing in that way.I have to check it for me again! Is it funny??

Hi djmarion! I guess it is alright but I find it unethical too. I taught the youngsters in our family that when chewing we at least have to do it with our mouth closed. I find it proper behvior in dining etiquette. Well, this is just my view. Take care and have a nice day!

I try to close it when chweing food, sometimes I cant deny that it has a mind of its own and opens. I try to close it coz its the way to eat with grace.

Yes of course I do teach them how to eat proper and how the good manners while eating or talking to anyone without food in their mouth. And as I also learn to my parents when I'm still young.

Hi there. No we were taught to chew with our mouths closed, If we did chew with open mouths, my mom would say, close your mouth because you sound like cows, and our younger brother would moo back at her and we'd all laugh lol...

No i dont chew with my mouth open, ive been taught to chew with my mouth closed since young. Its not a very decent table manner. However there are a few people who do chew with their mouths open, I guess some of them cant help it or they probably dont realise that they actually have that habit.
