do you prefer contacts or eyeglasses?

I prefer eyeglasses because I am not comfortable touching my eye. Some women I know prefer contacts because they said that eyeglasses do not complement their physical appearance.

YES, me too. As for the advantages and disadvantages of having contact lenses.
Contact lenses are thin plastic discs that rest directly on the cornea.
ADVANTAGES OF CONTACT LENSES
1. Better correction for certain eye conditions, such as keratoconus and irregular astigmatim.
2. Thick glasses reduce the side vision in spectacles because the power is only at the center. The frame also reduces side vision. This problem is overcome by contact lenses.
3. No fogging of vision from humidity and perspiration.
4. Cosmetic approach to eye problems.
5. Very comfortable for sportsmen.
6. Use of optical instruments such as microscope and camera becomes easier.
DISADVANTAGES OF CONTACT LENSES
1. Expensive.
2. Cost ineffective due to damage & loss.
3. Requires special care.
4. With hard lenses wearing time gradually builds up so strong motivation is required for successful results.

I prefer eyeglasses as contact lenses may irritate my eyes. And eyeglasses can easily be removed whenever I want to. But in terms of appearance wearing contact lenses is better choice. I guess it depends on the person whose going to wear and his or her reason of wearing them. It also depends on the environment you're going to.

I like eye glasses, because someone else would have put in my contacts as I am physically disabled and can't manage to do many physical things myself. I'm not comfortable with anyone touching my eye, even if I could do it myself.

I have many relatives and friends who wear lenses. I want to wear them but I am afraid that it might hurt my eyes. When wearing lenses there is possibility to get inflammation or eye infection if we forget to take it off at night. In the long run I think it is not a good thing to do, except if the person is very careful and follows the guidelines for wearing lenses. For now I may want to use glasses only. Maybe in the future I will wear lenses, who knows? Lol.

Contacts, definitely! They can't slide up and down your nose. I don't like the way I look in eyeglasses myself, but I can think of other reasons to have contacts besides that. As for touching your eye, you aren't really touching it, and it's something that you get used to very quickly once you start wearing contacts. Before you know it, it's just like brushing your teeth. You just do it and don't think about it.

I would definitely prefer contacts. Though contact lenses are more prone to damage easily, i am sure i can take a good care of it but i feel ill not be all that good handling eye glasses as they are easily subjected to breaking. Contacts help us by not spoiling our looks!!!

I prefer wearing contact lenses as I think I look better and I do not have to keep pushing up my glasses every now and then when it slips now my nose. I used to wear them everyday but after hearing so many stories, I now wear them alternate days so as to give my eyes some 'breathing space'

I must say I prefer how I look with contact lenses and glasses can make me feel more self-conscious about my appearance when I go out, however I do wear my glasses more often and then just put my contact lenses in when I am going out to church or a function (I work from home or I may be wearing them every day to work too.) The reason I do this is because glasses are just that much easier to put on than worrying with contact lenses. I am also trying to train my eyes to not need glasses or contacts that much anymore so I try to avoid using both whenever I can and the optometrist has said that she has noticed an improvement in my eyes the last couple of times I have been to her.

I actually like the way I look better when I wear my glasses. My husband does, too. And I like the way he looks when he wears his glasses, too.
I don't even have current contacts. I didn't like wearing them, they always made my eyes feel dry. Glasses are much easier, too. Sometimes I do wish I had contacts still when it's snowing or really cold and I am going in and out of the house, but that is about the only time I miss them.

I have been wearing contacts for 15 years now so I am uncomfortable wearing glasses. if i wear glasses for one whole day i have a terrible headache. I also feel vision or me is much better when i wear contacts instead of glasses because my eyes are very weak and i have a high negative power.

No one is comfortable touching their eyes at first. Your eyes have a natural response to things coming at them so you automatically blink. But if you continue daily with contact lenses, you eventually overcome that natural fear of touching your eyes and it gets fairly easy.
Contacts do provide better vision on the whole than glasses. They don't fog up when you come in from the cold or get wet when it rains.
I have worn contacts since my mother first agreed to pay for them and I have never turned back. I have a pair of glasses for wearing at night, at home or on slouchy days when I just don't get up and going out anywhere. But I find that even at home, I prefer contacts.
With disposable lenses, you change the lenses for fresh ones as soon as they start to get too dry or dirty or uncomfortable. They are supposed to last two weeks but I find you can comfortably stretch their use out for much longer than that.
I am a die-hard contact lens wearer, according to my optometrist. I guess it's true. I will continue to wear them as long as they can correct my vision using them.

well i am a girl and i don't think that way as you have heard about females..it all depends upon my comfort, the time and place around me..if i am at home i always wear glasses and even if i am going out i wear glasses most of the times..its only at some particular occasion specially where i had to use some make up etc..i use contacts as at that time i don't feel comfortable wearing glasses and not because of anything concerning looks..but if i have some nice frame that matches with my dress then i can wear glasses too at such occasions so i don't think its bad to wear glasses all the time..you can have them modified to suit your occasion if you are more comfortable with glasses..one reason i don't feel contacts very often is i sometimes feel grittiness in my eyes for wearing them for long..and also there is risk of some eye-infection if you touch your eyes to frequently wearing them and that too with unclean hands of which we are sometimes unaware..

I wear contacts mainly for extra special occasions or if I just feel like putting them in which is probably maybe not even 10 times out the year. I don't like the time it takes to put them in and after an hour or two, or sometimes right after i put them in, no matter how much i reapply them, clean them, and put them back in, they still feel uncomfortable on my eye. They have so many different styles of glasses out, i don't really mind wearing them. they are just more convenient.

I don't mind touching my eyes but I tend to wear my glasses a lot more than my contacts. Doesn't mean I don't like them. I just find it easier most days to wear the glasses. I definitely wear the contacts when I'm going to a fancy dress up event, and I try to wear them when I get my hair cut because I can't wear my glasses while she's working with my hair and I like to see what's going on!

I have been wearing contact lenses for over 20 years--since I was 13 years old! I never liked the way I looked in glasses. Now when I wear my glasses I can't get used to not having good peripheral vision. So I have to wear contacts. Either that or get the laser surgery, but that freaks me out!
