You smoke because you like it. You've been smoking for a long time for the main reason that you like it. But at some point you meet someone. A great person. Smart, cute, funny, attentive you your every need and desire. BUT alergic to cigarette smoke,
What do you do? Do you give up something you really really enjoy for that someone?

If I cared for someone enough and wanted to spend more time with them I would try and give it up. NOt just for that persons health but my own. I would want to stick around and enjoy their company and not get sick with some kind of disease related to smoking. It could benefit you both. Don't we all give up a part of ourselves for someone we love or care deepy for?

I have been a smoker so I know the struggles of quitting and how hard it is. I have also been in relationships and know the struggles of those. I do feel that we do give up things we like and things we want when we are in relationships. It is part of a compromise. It may be standard by the book, but it does happen. Wether it be giving up smoking, a hobby, your favorite music or food. Maybe even the place you live.Nobody has ever had a relationship last or work if there is no give and take. I am not offended by your comments and can agree to disagree. After all it is my opinion. NOt everyone thinks the same.

I would try to quit, but that person would have to be willing to be patient with me. Smoking is not something you can just quit overnight. I don't smoke and can't stand the smell, so I couldn't imagine being with anyone who smokes. I would make the effort for a special person though.
