Hi friends! Still no luck in finding my Mom's cat Cupie Doll. She hasn't been seen in about a week and knowing coyotes are in the area.... well you get the picture. We're not sure. So that said, Mom is so upset over the loss however if Cupie Doll does return she'll be welcomed with big open arms however, I'm looking for another siamese kitten for Mom to love. The breed is incredible but you'd have to understand it to love it. I have two of them and even though my female is aloof at times she's still very loving. My male is a love bug but is outside most of the day because that's where he's happy most (or in my arms).
So does anybody know where I can find a Siamese kitten for my mother? They're hard to find nearby but am hoping someone knows something that I don't.

I didn't realise your Mothers siamese cat was missing. I would be devastated if one of my cats went missing. Poor thing.Although I have never had a siamese, I once had an Abyssinan with a little siamese in him. Abyssinans are very similar to Suiamese. Full of character, & almost human like.
I can't suggest anywhere you could get a siamese kitten, as I live in Australia.
But don't give up on your Mums cat. I have known cats to be missing for much longer & still return.

Awww! Thank you for caring enough to respond! You're a dear! We're not giving up on Cupie Doll but it's so hard on Mom because she's not feeling she'll ever see her again which I think is wrong. I've told her to hand it to God so He can "fix" the problem but I think she's still holding on to it and not completely letting it go to Him.

If you can't find a pure bred Siamese, go looking for a Siamese mix. I have a couple of "black" Siameses who act just like the pointed ones, since they are half. I have a couple of color point cats that actually act less like a Siamese than the black ones.
My Scamp is one of the black ones, he's got the voice, but is bigger than the norm. I tell people he's got an opinion about everything, & none of them good, because he's got that "whine" some Siamese have. He's also not the happiest of cats, but he's got a lot of fears, probably from before my friend rescued him.
So, go check at shelters or rescue groups or even http://www.siameserescue.org/ to see if you can find a new friend for your mom.

Thanks for the suggestion but Mom wants a siamese with the markings of one. She loves the colors along with their blue eyes. I've even tried talking her into taking an adult one a few years ago but noooo she wants a kitten so it can grow up knowing basically only her. I don't like that but what can I do? She can be REALLY stubborn. Maybe because it's her daughter suggesting it? I don't know.

I once worked as a housekeeper in a house where there were 3 large siamese cats. The first day I was there to work I saw the cats sitting in a chair, I said "Hi Kitties." Well they all started meowing, but they sounded like demons from hell, not cats, and they jumped down and started circleing me, one of them bit me, right though my pants in into my calf. I had to have a tetnis shot and never went into that house again until after the cats were locked in a room I didn't have to go into. The moral of my story is, I am afraid of siamese cats and I think you should consider another breed. I have a cat that is angora and he is very sweet, he never bits me, and he's just a good size, not scary big like the siameses that I encountered.

Good gosh Nykkee! If I had that kind of experience I'd be afraid of them too! Sheesh! But you know, it's all in how they're raised is how they'll be when they grow up. Just like a Chihuahua or a Doberman dog, if they're teased they'll grow up to be mean dogs, the same goes with Siamese cats. However if they're raised with nothing but patience and love then that's all they're going to know and be sweet and loving when they grow up. Some people don't deserve cats or dogs for companions because of how they treat them. My mom and I have had several siamese cats and they've all turned out to be wonderful sweet loving beings. We'll never do without them. I'm so sorry to hear about your terrible experience but blame the owners not the cats because it's the owners fault for teaching them to be the way they are. Sad is what it is. So sad.

Thank you. Yes she's found another one although it's not pure bred but she doesn't care because it looks so much like her Cupie Doll. She's suppose to get her this weekend after her company leaves.
