Would you rather buy OOAK or off the rack?

Assuming all else was the same, would you rather buy something that was one of a kind, hand crafted, etc or just something off the shelf, mass produced? I have been spending alot of time in forums on etsy, where I have a shop selling hand made jewelry, knitted items and polymer clay beads and bits. Just about anything you can imagine people making by hand can be purchased on this site, much more than just jewelry. Even items that the seller may make more than 1 of are still hand crafted and much more unique than anything you could buy in a store. So which would you choose? http://www.bibelots.etsy.com
