How Do You Remove Your Makeup?

Just wondering how do you remove your makeup usually? Some people don't remove them at all (I wonder why!) and some people use specific products. I personally use cleansing oil to remove my makeup on the whole face including eye makeup! I think cleansing oil is one of the best products but I reckon that not very many countries have those. So, what do you use?

hi wondericequeen,i don't do make up very often and keep it light for casual trips..for removing that i use cleansing milk with cotton, after cleaning with it i use cotton to remove any left out cleansing milk or i just wash it off with fresh & cold water then i use a toner with a cotton swab for applying it over my face....after like 2-3 minutes of keeping it when it gets well absorbed i use moisturizer to keep my skin supple and moist..for removing a bit heavy make up i use Revlon's make up removing cream and then follow the same two steps of toning and moisturizing..i have not tried cleansing oils till yet..but will try them sometime in future as they are not available in India till now as you already know about their availability outside US..

Oh yes, after reading the responses in this discussion, I know that how rare cleansing oil is outside Asia! It's a Japanese invention but it's really convenient. Oh I know one cleansing oil from Biotique (a brand in India) but mind you, don't be tempted to try! I tried it and it's really greasy and bad, it's nothing comparable to the Japanese one! If you ever see some cleansing oil somewhere, remember to pick the Japanese brand!

I use Mary kay oil free eye make up for removing make up on most sensitive part like the eyes.. I believe that removing make up before going to bed is important thing to do, our facial skin needs to breathe and removing make up will surely help.. I also use Timewise Skin care line from Mary kay to keep my skin in good condition.

I usually use a make up remover.i have a cream and sometimes wet tissue.i dont go to sleep having make up..coz it clogs pores and brings whiteheads into my face..and sometimes,it brings itchyness on my skin..after putting a makeup remover,I clean my face with facial wash and water..i'll clean my face thoroughly to wash away the dirt on my face..i am prone to acne and i really need to avoid that!

Right very good habit! I use my cleansing oil and then I would wash my face again with a facial cleanser too just to make sure my face is thoroughly cleaned!

Hello wondericequeen, I use makeup remover first and then cleanse my face with my usual cleanser. But honestly, sometimes if I am too busy or tired, I tend to skip that first routine (Ha Ha Ha..now you know why huh?) I used to buy any brands that look good to my eyes except for my 3 steps skincare regime. For cleanser, toner and moisturizer, I always use the same brand.

*laughs* I see! I am not picky about makeup remover as long as they clean very well. Yea? You always use the same brand 3-step? I never did! Nothing has turned me into a loyal customer yet and I am still there browsing around searching for my "soul mate" haha.

I use Mary Kay's oil free makeup remover for all of my face makeup...including my eyes. I love it because you don't have to scrub the makeup off. It comes right off and leaves no trace of mascara or eyeliner. I then wash my face with my daily cleanser and apply some moisturizer. I know it sounds like a lot of work to some people but sometimes there is more to it...ie..masks. My skin is proof that it is definitely worth it though.

*laughs* Right I keep hearing that some people don't want to do that much of work at night but I insist! It's always better safe than sorry.

I don't use any specific products for removing make up-I hardly have make up on ordinary days, but I make sure to wash my face before sleeping.I use facial wash.

I haven't found a cleanser yet that removes dirt totally, even thought some claim to do that. For my eye make-up, I have found Mary Kay's to be the best product for that purpose. For my face I use Benefit's "Not on my Pillow" It's very gentle on the face. I have experienced that some make-up removers dry out my face but this one doesn't. I think they changed the name to "Gee That was Quick"...I'm not sure if it's the same but I can't find ...pillow anymore on their website.

I have always wanted to try Benefit's stuff but I never did! Maybe I should really try their items later and see if that works for me *laughs*.

Yes I always remove my make up but I do it in 2 ways depends on makeup I use I mean If I only put a little make up I just wash it with cleansing foam but if I use heavy make up such as use foundation etc I will remove it with cleansing cream after that I use my facial foam and next I use toner. and cleansing oil I never try that one.

Right! Not many places have cleansing oil! It's more of a Japanese invention!
