I have a friend who is very cheap. Sometimes I'd make fun at him and call him names like "cheapy" or "buy no". However, he recently started a business which required a large amount of cash out of his own pocket. For me it does pay (literally) to be cheap. What do you think?

A dollar saved is a dollar earned and if you save enough you can do what you really want to with your life. :) Why pay more than you have to? Makes no sense to me.

Is saving and being cheap the same thing? I think you can save without being cheap.

There's a difference between being frugal and being cheap. I think it's very wise to be frugal & to cut coupons, etc.
It's when you're literally counting pennies that it gets out of hand.
