Robert Jaworski, without a doubt, is the most popular player ever to play in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA).
After his Toyota team disbanded, he took over as playing coach of Ginebra San Miguel in 1985. With his transfer, the fanbase of Ginebra grew, mostly Toyota fans that followed him.
In 1998, Jaworski ran for a senatorial seat and won. This made him leave Ginebra. In his absence, however, the team remained to be PBA's most popular team up to these days.
Now, Air21 is offering Jaworski to coach their team. If Jaworski accepts the offer, will Ginebra maintain its popularity as it is today or will Air21 be the next most popular ballclub in the league?
What do you think?

One thing's for sure, the "Barangay" will still be there. Ginebra will still maintain its stature as the most popular team, and in fact, the Gin Kings managed to survive and grab more championships without the help of the Big J. With more fan favorites like Mark Caguioa, Anthony "Jay-Jay" Helterbrand, Eric Menk, and Ronald Tubid, expect standing-room stadiums in every Ginebra game.

I agree with you. Definitely, Jaworski is already out of Ginebra's present popularity.
Thanks to your response.

I think this will be the end of Baranggay Ginebra and the ascension of "Air21 City". Jaworski proved to be the most popular player and coach, Philippine basketball ever had! I said that he is popular because there are as many basketball fans who want him to win as there are basketball fans who want to see him beaten or lose face.
