Hi everyone, just to share an idea - recently a scrapbooking forum I'm on started a paper swap cycle.
that means that those who participate, privately message their address to the next person on the list, and the person sends them a package of odds and ends of scrapping paper. patterned paper or cardstock is allowed.
then the person who receives it takes out whatever they want or fancy, and puts back an equivalent size of paper into the envelope (A4 size) and sends it to the next person.
Do you think this is a a cool idea? I've already participated in two rounds, and it's been quite fun. have you ever joined such paper swaps?

I think it's a cool idea but I've never heard of it or tried it. I'd worry about the cost of mailing the package all over the place though. Did you did a lot of good stuff when you did it?

we do it within the country so it only costs US$0.60. Got some good stuff and some not so good stuff. but overall was happy with what i could choose from.

Looks interesting. Seems like the scrapbooking community is really active.
Surfing thru the various sites, I seem to notice the main gripe to be not being able to find good material.
I tot scrapbooking makes use of anything one can grab hold of to make the art piece. When all the different odds and ends that are lying around are put together so that it becomes something beautiful to behold.
So how does one define good scrapbooking material to those that are not?

I've never heard of such a thing and don't scrapbook but it sounds like great fun and could also work for quilting squares or I'm sure other craft things. Personally I have a bunch of plastic beads I'll never use now I'm making my own glass beads but hate to throw anything away.

Where do I sign up? I have wanted to do this for a long time. I mean there are very few stores in my area let alone scrapbooking stores. There is this one store that the lady gets in some scrapbooking supplies just for me and 4 other ladies in the community but.... It gets to be a little repetitive with the same stuff over and over again. I would love to have new paper and stickers and tags and whatnot from other places!

Yes squaretile!
I often share the goodies I get from other countries with some of my other crafty buddies! Most of us like doing altered books and such. We always love getting asian print for our projects!
I have a counter-offer; rather than doing the round-robbin style like you are talking about, why don't we all just PM each other our addresses, and for everyone that sends us an address, we send them a small package that contains something represntative of where we live?
What do you think? I will be glad to send you a little package, if you will send me one! :)

Hi! I was just browsing through older discussions and came across this one. I was wondering if anything got started, and if so, how it worked out. I think that's a great idea, and I have a ton of paper and left oversI wouldn't mind sharing with others. Do you have a guide to go by for what gets included? For example, paper must be at least a certain size?
