it's so relaxing to have a massage every now and then at the spa, in some salons or even at home. it relieves our stressed and tensed muscles especially after a hard days work. i used to go to spas or salons to have a massage when i was still single and normally at salons or spas, they send in a female or a masseuse if the client is female and a male or masseur if the client is male. after i got married, my husband gives me a massage especially if he knows that i'm a bit stressed out. being able to try both female (from the spa) and male (my husband) i think a masseur is better than a masseuse. i say this not just because i get my massages from my husband nowadays but because i've noticed that when i get my massage from a masseuse, there are some instances that i was not really satisfied from the kind of massage she gave me since it's like she was not able to hit the pressure points on my back. now i think, a guy or a masseur can massage better because they can exert more pressure and be able to hit the pressure points in order to relieve stressed muscles. well, what do you think? for you, who do you think can massage better...a female, a masseuse or a male, a masseur?

I think a masseuse would massage bettter because it has more experience than an masseur

wondering about the logic behind this, both male and female MASSAGE THERAPISTS can have an equal amount of experience.

I think saying one or the other can do their profession better would be gender prejudice. Its like saying all chinese people this, all spanish people that. Its hard to say any ENTIRE group of people is better or wordse at anything. I went to massage therapy school and now need to take my national exam, and one in the US, Masseuse is kind of a derogatory term now associated with the s$x trade as is masseur. And we are taught in school how to use the whole body to exert pressure and if necessary on a large person, to lower the table. Thus both the male and female MASSAGE THERAPISTS I have experienced can exert an equal amount of pressure. No matter how large or small the guy is - and many guys are very small and weak - as when we mention males - we're talking about millions and no matter how large or small the girl is - she can offer the correct amount of pressure. In fact, this one woman, Kate, not a huge woman at all - was the best at deep tissue massage, although we were all taught well and could do it well.

My daughter is a massage therapist, nationally certified, and becasue I kind of trained her from the time she was small for my particular issues..she's the BEST for me!
All of my kids massage well? They do my back great. But only my daughter went for further education in massage and she's the best! (Get mine for free, because I'm the mom!)
