yes i all hate them. sometimes i suspect them even to be burglers, thiefs, scammers and strangers. its hard to trust this people. i dont know im not comfortable to them. i understand they are trying to make a living out of it, but i think going door to door is to laborious and strainous. i insist them to stay in the doorstep and i dont welcome them in. sometimes i respond not interested with any of there offer.

There are still door to door salesmen!?
I've been lucky to have never lived in a neighborhood so far. I've never had trick or treaters...I've never had jehovah witness' and I've never had traveling salesmen.
I didn't know they still existed though!? It seems like such a crazy and horrible job, just like telemarketers. I don't think people should be allowed to invade your home trying to get you to purchase something.

Yes. It does bother me. Because when someone shows up your door or even at the gate and you don't know who that person is, it makes me suspicious about that person especially those who are not wearing their work clothes like the mailman. Not that I judge people but I am really taking extra precautions because who knows? Maybe that person who is pretending to be a salesman is a robber, a rapist or even a murderer. It is hard to tell nowadays. That is why I am glad that we have a gate because whenever someone comes by like a salesman, we always ask what he/she is promoting before we let them in. But I think 95% of the time, especially when salesman/saleswoman shows up, we usually say "NO" no matter how good their products are.

Yup. It really is true.. That is the woman most especially must take extra precautions when some guy who pretends to be working is knocking at your door. It is better if you talk to that so called "door-to-door" salesman using your window if you have one..

Don't worry you're not the only one who suddenly pretends that they're not home...I often ignore anyone ringing my bell...Unless I'm expecting a delivery, or a friend is dropping by I just plain don't answer my bell
You'd think that guy trying to sell seafood to you would finally get the hint though..what a pain!!

I think i will draw a fis with a shrimp in its mouth with a big X on it and stick it in the door, even better get my daughter to draw it.I know he didnt forget that he already comes here, unless he has memory losses. My boyfriend wont let me tell him to stop coming. He just told me to say that im not interested.I dont think interested is a good word to use, because maybe they think that "oh,maybe she changed her mind today".

No, it does not. I used to sell door-to-door and it is
the most difficult type of sales to do. I am always polite and kind to those who have the gumption to go out into their communities and sell.

I do this job but only twice a year for the canadian red cross going door to door asking for donations and I KNOW its a grueling job because you have somepeople that that are very nasty. But i took it with a smile and thankyou. And i never went back to se if they had changed their mind.My point i tried to make as in my discussion through my answers to people responding, was that i was not iggnorant to the salesperson that was coming to my door every week only to get the same answer"seafood:No thankyou,my boyfriend is allergic to it"But he still keeps coming back! The same guy. So,i will have to be kind of rude for him to get the hint.Because my boyfriend cannot do it himself.

We don't get them very often but when we do I usually just close the door in their face. I hate to be rude but if I wanted to buy something I'd go to the mall or do it online. There are strict rules against door to door salespeople in our community (one thing I actually agree with the community association about) and if people start coming round they are usually reported pretty quickly and politely asked to leave the neighborhood.

It does. The Mormons come by on their bikes a lot too, and that annoys me. But the worst is the little kids selling things. Now here me out, LOL, I'm not an ogre. I don't have money to spend on anything extra. But I feel so badly for the little kids when they are trying to raise money. Some of them are so shy and I just know it is killing them to have to ask. But I just don't have the money.

I have not had anyone do this at my house for years, but I have had bible thumpers. I am not against Religion but I have my own religion and I do not like when others come to the door and try to push theirs on you. These people you can always spot and I do not ever answer the door for them.

I never buy from these people and I am also never rude to them. I understand that they are trying like we all are to make a living but to be knocking on peoples doors is not a good living at all. I don't know of anyone that in their hearts welcomes these people. some just have more trouble saying "no" than others. It is much like telemarketing...you are pushing yourself onto people. No one likes it. These people make a living by being annoying to you. I understand they are just trying to earn a living but still, I get very annoyed at the invasion of privacy and especially if they are pushy.

It drives me crazy. I hate saying no to them, but if I wanted these things, I'd go out and get them.

Yes, of course. Although I try to be nice and politely tell to go away and that I am not interested, it seems that they still try to bother you and try to get a sale. What is worse is that it is obvious at times that they are just there to sell the product and that they don't know much about the plan or service at all. For example, like a few days ago, some person came already trying to get me to sign up for their internet service. But I already told them that I am under contract with another company and that the current plan is a lot cheaper, a lot faster, get capped (no extra fees for extra downloads) as well as uploads not being counted. When I told them this, they tried to argue and say that their plan had all this but it was obvious they didn't understand most of the technical stuff and were just lying (as I had already known about their plans).

I didn't realize that door to door salesmen still existed. I thought with the internet boom, and the sprouting of gigantic malls in practically every city, that these salesmen were rendered obsolete. I wanna see one! Send this guy to my home =) It would be amusing to actually hear someone give an impassioned sales pitch. This is a dying art.

well sometimes especially when i just got up from bed and you know when i am in bed i only wear brief or boxers though and when they come into my house outside, they would sometimes see my everythig so what i do is to run out from that phase and go get a shorts to cover. or sometimes i just shout and tell them to wait while i am running towards my room. well i am not really allergic to it i mean it can never be my allergy though. well it is just normal for them to go to your house because it is their work to deliver something important to you and next time. do not be amaze whe they come again
