Living in society will be impossible without an ethical basis. along with the other conditions, which we must abide by, is the assumtion that we must be honest in our dealings with other people. But beyond that is honesty with oneself. Most of us have a phenomenal capacity for self-deception and go through an entire life time without being aware of extent of the dishonesty that we indulge in.
