I am finally back in business, and all caught up after a four month ordeal with my old computer dying- i could not afford a new one, but my brother was able to get one for me for cheap from his work. Things like this drive me crazy- I can't complain because my old IBM was from 1999 or so, and I used it up to this point...but it was very frustrating that the problem it had, I was unable to fix....I am good diagnosing and fixing computer problems, it was the mother board that died...
the one bit of advice I can give all of you is to back up everything, especially if you have an older system!! You never know when all will be lost; especially if you don't know that much on how to fix it.
How many people have just gone thru this experience?
I know I am lost without a computer.

I just went through the same thing about a year ago, it was horrible. Thankfully I had backed up all my daughters photos on my gmail drive and also many of them I had burned to CD's as well. However I didn't have every single thing backed up! The worst part of this was the time between the computer breaking and the time until I was able to afford a new one!!!! I hated it! I also agree back things up on a regular basis like monthly or more often if you are regularly adding important photos or documents especilally photos and financial or legal documents. It might seem like a lot of extra work that you wont ever need, until that dreaded day your computer stops working!
