What should you do if you have spider veins on the back of your legs?

During my pregnancy, I gained a signifigant amount of weight and started developing spider veins. Those are the small red looking veins that appear closer to the surface. While they're not as bad as varicose veins which appear blue and enlarged, the spider veins are still annoying and very noticeable. I would love to get some suggestions on how to deal with these spider veins to make them go away. Mostly, I've noticed them at the side and back of my knees and thighs. Perhaps there is some reason they would appear there and not elsewhere. Is there a special type of cream that could minimize the appearance or perhaps something I could use to cover them up? I've thought about using a self tanning product on my legs, but am not sure that would be sufficient. Has anyone tried that before and does it work? Please let me know what has worked for you. I can't bear one more summer with covered legs! By next summer, I definitely want to be able to put on my bathing suit for the beach. Would appreciate suggestions. Thanks!

Mine are worse than just spider veins. Vericose veins run in my family and I have them on the inside of my left thigh and behind my knee. I know there are laser treatments to get rid of them but until they become a problem, I will just leave them as they are. My father had his removed because they got to the stage where they became very painful and they had to be removed.

I have just started getting varicose veins and can't stand them. They are mostly right between my ankle and knee. I don't know what causes them although I'm guessing weight (I'm a large person) and if theres any way to get rid of them. Have a great day!! AT PEACE WITHIN

I have the spider veins also. I have never done anything to try to get rid of them and I don't woory about keeping my legs covered. I'll wear a swimsuit at the beach or shorts during the summer. I guess I really don't care if someone thinks my legs are unattractive. Sorry, I am no help at all, unless you want to do as I do and not worry about it.
