Mylot Is More Like A Job To Me Now!!!!

Before, coming on to Mylot was fun, like a guilty pleasure. Now, it is more like a job to me. I am thinking that if I want to make the money on here that I use to, I have to work twice as hard as I use to.
I still enjoy hearing from my friends, but everything just seems so strained now. I use to get on Mylot first thing in the morning. Now, I get to it, when I get to it. How many people are feeling like this?

I find it works best to have the attitude of doing it for pleasure and learning. I have learned so much on mylot. People are great and it is really fun! And then, there is money too. It takes a bit to earn but I think if you used it some every day you could make the minimum payout each month.

I have never missed a day. I started seven months ago and have been doing this thing ever since. It is more than just the money. It is the friendships, which I am trying to catch and hold on to. A lot of them are fleeing to other sites. I have also improved my typing skills a great deal.

It is addicting I think - especially if you do it for fun!

Same here. It takes twice as long to make half as much. Anyway, it has lost some of its appeal because so many good members are gone. I have too many other more properous things going on. This is now moving lower on the list of things to do.

MyLot is not meant to be a giant money maker, it is meant to be a social discussion network, and the cash you make is just an extra perk for being an active contributing member.
If your looking to make a living out of writing, you should join sites like Helium and Associated Content.

I understand what you are saying and I know that there is no way to make a lot of money on Mylot. It is just that when they cat the earnings recently, with no explanation, they took a lot of the fun away. Not just that, the social part has become very lousy because of the cuts.
I tried Associated Content and it is too stuffy for me. That is not the kind of writer that I am. I have to be able to express myself in a more relaxed way.

It all depends on what you mean by earning money. If you are asking whether or not they pay you what you earn, yes. If you think you are going to be making enough to pay a utility bill, not likely.
On average I would get about 15 to 17 dollars sent to PayPal every month. Now, I takes over a month to make payout which is only $10.00. Most of my friends have the same story.

I don't get on mylot very often anymore either. I think it was more fun when we made money for posting, it was exciting. But now it seems like a waste of time, especially when I get my inbox full of nonsense posts. I love to get real good discussions, I learn a lot from those types. But some are just plain a waste of time, just someone trying to post just about anything to earn a penney. It's a real turnoff and I just delete the discussion. There are still some really good ones on here though and I miss getting involved. I keep telling myself when things calm down here at home I will get back to it, we'll see.

Me *putting my hand up* LOL I can only get to mylot when I have some spare time. I have only made a few cents over the past week because I have been so busy getting the house in order for my husbands friends that arrive tommorrow, trying to organise my son for school in 11 days and on top of that i had a tummy bug for the last two days. Now that its almost nearing the end of the month I am trying to make the minimum payout :) How are you Rozie :)

I am hanging in there and doing pretty good. I am under a lot of stress right now, but I am giving it to the Lord. It seems to be a stressful time of year for a lot of people. I have learned that when I get to the end of my rope, to tie a knot and hang on. God is faithful.

I still enjoy the site, it seems that the topics are becoming less, though. I still try to get on here everyday, it doesn't always happen, but I still like to post some responses and just see what discussions are out there. I know that I am not making as much as I did, when I first started, but this is just a fun site for me. I enjoy the extra money when I get it, but it is not something that I rely on.

The fact that I am very opinionated keeps me coming back to Mylot everyday. I like the topics that are really about something and make you think. I also like the laid back, not too serious ones every now and then. But, it isn't as much fun on here as it use to be.

I've kinda become the same way. It's still fun for me, but now I feel like I have to find time to respond. I know if I don't I will have an Inbox full of alerts and I know I will miss a chance to make some extra cash. Times are hard right now and I have to get all the extra money that I can.:P It's still more important to me to talk to friends and hear opinions and stories, but it is definitely more strained than it used to be for me.

The money crunch hit me pretty hard today. I usually use it to get me through the last few days of the month, but today I had to go to friends to borrow. My friend was low on cash so I have to pay her back with interest.
I didn't realize how much I relied on that little extra change until I did not get it this month. I should be okay though next month because I have started working on another site as well. This other site is actually blowing Mylot out of the water. I am excited about it.

Not for me, I don't like to stay too long in My lot even in the beginning, you know I doubt how much mylot could offer me if I am replying and sending discussions all day. But I don't really like spending so much time here, my time is more valuable in other places if I'd like to spend it in somewhere.
Anyway, nice to know you in My lot, good luck!

I can understand how you feel. I initially started with mylot several months back and did it to make money. Then I just gave up because it was a lot of work for such little money! I have recently found a easier way that doesnt take so much time and effort to do and make a heck of a lot more money! If interested, you can view my profile for a link to my webpage explaining everything on how I make the money I do. Dont worry...its not a scam...no money necessary at all! Now I just come on here to mingle with others and see what interesting thing that people have to say!

I've only been here for three days I think. I also post on Associated Content but they are different, you submit articles. So far, I see that my earnings are .11 cents. I must admit to being a little confused as regards exactly how all this works......are we being paid for typing our responses....or for posting discussions??

Look, this is my 3rd day here and I have more than 100 posts :)
At the first hours I just see topics and answers after I start to make my own posts it made me a pendent :) If I have time when I can't do anything I come here and try to make good responses, not just a sentence. And I think I can make my english better, I can learn lots of new words with my digit dictionary, so it's very good thing to me.

Being very new to the site it's interesting to read this post. After my first day on the site I think I had earned something like 7 cents, so I am not here for the money. If I were, I'd be crazy trying to live of 7 cents a day. LOL
But I can understand and appreciate what you are saying. It's one thing to always know something one way, but there is resentment when something you were once given is taken away, and especially without warning as you have mentioned.
I think what you are saying is true for many websites. I used to have a certain site I would visit religiously, then it was another and it keeps changing. I think it's the nature of humans to grow and try new things. Those sites that I visit didn't change, my interest in them changed.
Hopefully you will find something new to replace the loss you feel of mylot.
