Should children be allowed to learn in an unstructured environment which will allow them to develop/learn at their own pace or is it better, do you think, that they should have to pass certain standardized tests at various points in their school career? Should teachers "teach to the test"??

Differences between cultures and understanding varies from individuals give birth to the authorized tests of abilities and knowledge. In an ideal situation, children should be allowed to learn in an unformulated, unstructured environment for a very long time, according to the theories of Maria Montessori. In her theories, children don't need award or punishments. Uniqueness, is what a man to be. However, men is live to have the sociality. Therefore, under the circumstance that bias and disagreements cannot be diminished, children shall be allowed to learn and develop themselves in an environment solely provided by adults, aiming at Love & Freedom before the age of 6, or even 12. I think this is the maximized compromise between the Montessori education and the reality.
