I just got my very first puppy and she is an English Bulldog. She is 12 wks old and is the cutest thing I have ever seen. The problem is that she enjoys biting hands and feet. I have tried sound diversion and ignoring her when she does this, but nothing seems to work. Is this biting normal for all puppies? Will she grow out of it?

All dogs I have I used the same system. It's OK to play with legs and hands and bit little. Do not hit your puppy never. When grow up the day wil come when your dog snarl to you. That's the only one time when you MUST hit, beat the dog really impressive, but JUST after snarl to you. Then the dog will know who's the boss and never been agressive. I know it sounds terrible to beat-hit an animal but this is the only way to let the dogs know who's the boss in the little team. Dogs has own rules and who is the strongest in the kennel will be the supreme commander (this title must be you). And don't feed him with simple meal, every time boil it or something like that to don't know taste of blood.

NEVER hit an animal. If you want to impress upon a creature, a dog, that you are in charge, pet them from the back of the neck to the tail in a long sweeping gesture down the spine while they are sitting, speaking to them in a calm, stern voice, with love.NEVER EVER strike an animal! That post seems a tad unreal.

OK then just tell me, what do you think, are animals fight each other? I mean rhino against rhino, lion against lion to show who is the most powerful and who will be the "alpha male" who owns all of female lions, who tell the others where will the team go? Animals are living by their own rules, not ours. I didn't say hit your dog every day, I said just one time. IF the dog snarl to you and you do NOTHING the dog thinks you be in dread, and about that the dog think about himself HE IS THE COMMANDER. That's why happens lot of accidents with dogs who really bit humans. If the dog knows who's his boss, it never could be happen!!

And there's something i forget write down. Animals are lives instinctive. So you can bring up a lion with love, eat every day twice, lions are hunters. Originally the dog was hunters too, that's why the dogs wants to catch the gum-bone if you play with it. So if you want to be effective you must think with their instinctive. No love can clear their instinctive from their brain - because it's in their heads since thousands of years. And the animals can feel the love, it's true. But, again, it's not enough to clear the instinctives. Respect them, follow their rules and everything will be OK.

It is normal for puupies and she will most likely grow out of it, try holding a rubber chew toy and placing it in her mouth when she does this, while using a corrective tone of voice, and by calling the toy a name, when she starts biting and is used to the toy being placed in her mouth, you can tell her "go get soand-so" *insert toys name here*and she will hopefully go and find it and use that instead of you. good luck and enjoy your pup!

it is normal when my english bulldog was a puppy he didn't let me dress he bit my jeans and never wanted to let it off... i was going from the bedroom to my living room with him hanging on my jeans... it was really funny for a time...:)) but then i thought to give him something good for chewing so i bought him some chewing bones and from then rarely i had problems... i always had something else to give him to chew besides my hands or my jeans...

Check out this website, he has some very great tips http://www.cesarmillaninc.com/tips/ He has a show on National Geographic Channel on Friday's at 8 EST. He has a completely different approach to handle dogs then I have ever seeing. But I have been following his lead, and my Dog he is a little over two years old, is the most well behaved dog I have seen. That's just because of following Cesar's lead. Oh the show itself is called the Dog Whisperer. I do want to mentioned also do not ever - ever hit a dog, that will make him only more aggressive. Grab him my the scruff of his neck and gentle but him/her in the submissive position, this will teach your dog that your the Alpha Dog, but that as well you can learn from the Dog Whisperer show.
