I have a few close family members and a few that are not close to me. Other family that I have are old, I dont know them and live far away so I dont count them as family. I dont feel alone, I make do with who I have and make those times spent together special.

There are people who are like that and only know a few relatives, but we a re a big family and it seems we have lots of relatives where ever we go here in the Philippines, always ready to welcome and help us in those places.

I was born late in my parents life, so I don't have that many relatives left in this world. A couple of aunts and uncles and cousins, and my mom. It is very sad, I also have a brother and a sister. But when I was young we used to have a houseful of family on holidays, and now we are lucky to have 10 people there. It is a sad fact of life, we all have to go someday!

I am 48. I have lost my parents, and my grandmother. They were the closest to me, because I never had any siblings. I have lost some of my aunts, and uncles, so I don't have much family left, either. I just have a few aunts, uncles, cousins, and my immediate family. Husband, kids, and grandkids.

I know exactly how you feel. I'm only 23 years old and I've never known my father or any members of that part of my family. As for my mothers' side of the family...I lost my grandfathers before I was born, my mother lost my twin sisters after birth, I lost both of my grandmothers by the time I was 10, and just last year I lost my aunt (who has helped my mother raise me, and was like a 2nd mother to me all my life). I just got married last year, and I now have 2 wonderful children, a boy named Jeffrey who is 16 months old, and a daughter named Jena who is almost 3 months old. As for my mother...her health is getting worse every day it seems. So my biggest fear is being left alone once she is gone. I still have one uncle and step-aunt, and some cousins but we just don't get along very well. So I know exactly how you feel. My husband has a HUGE family, but sometimes I just don't feel like I'm a part of it yet. It could be the fact that we've only been married a year and a half, though. Well...sometimes it nice to know you're not along in feeling alone in life.
