My family does okay financially. My husband works and I stay at home w/ our daughter. This will be our first Christmas with a child and I'm curious how much most people spend on toys, etc for their children.

i tend to go a little overboard on Christmas. it is the one time of year where you really don't have to feel guilty for spoiling your kids. Although i end up paying for it the rest of the year on my credit card bills.

Yeah, I'm afraid we're going to go crazy buying our daughter's gifts. We have bought her a lot throughout the year. She seems to get bored with them. I'm going to try putting half of them up and rotating. That way it'll seem like she has something new. Maybe if this works, we won't feel like we need to buy so much for Christmas. She and I both have b'days close to Christmas so that's hard too.
