In my house, hubby helps when he feels up to it...he is a disabled Veteran and has alot of pain at times...
He does not mind to help with anything except the cooking....LOL....too many years in the military and he never learned to cook besides...easy stuff like eggs, oatmeal, mac and cheese...LOL
It is nice to have a spouse that is willing to help, my friend, there are others who do not have this luxury...

It's so nice to have someone to help you. My husband is just terrific about cooking, cleaning, feeding animals, driving me to and from work when I don't want to drive. He is a blessing and very good to me. When 2 people work together, so much more is accomplished and he is a much better cook than I will ever be!!

I do not work, but stay home and care for my disabled son and my husband will, if we have had a hectic week. He doesn't complain if it gets out of hand, he just starts helping out. If possible, I do it and my sons both have little chores to help out.

My hubby enjoys doing the housework. He gets such pleasure from making it look neat and tidy. This I attribute to the fact that he was the middle child in a family of only boys. His mother was a stickler for a clean house.
He will do most of the housework if I let him. I prefer for him not to do the dishes and the laundry. I like it done a certain way.

I am a working mother/wife and we don't have housemaids, except that every weekend there's a woman who comes to our house to wash our clothes for the week and iron too. My hubby works overseas but whenever he comes home he helps in the housechores. He sometimes cook (especialty is barbecue) and wash the dishes. He sometimes sweep the floor.

That's good he still helps when he's home. Probably gives him a sense of "normalcy" when he's there?

Im very lucky that my other half helps on cleaning out the house. We do the laundry together, he washes the dishes and do the gardening. He dust the furnitures while i do the sweeping of floors. We divide the chores and he is really good on doing things around the house.

Sounds like a good way to share chores! That's great it works out so well for both of you!

I am the ONLY one who does anything in my house. In order to get help, I have to practically beg, and even then, it is no guarantee. I told my family I am going on strike one of these days for a week, so that they can see what it would be like without me.

Going on strike might not be a bad idea? Not good to be taken for granted like that. You're the MOM, not their slave and housemaid!

My fiance helps out with the household chores when he can. When we first moved, I got a job right away, while he was at home, so he took care of almost all of the chores for me. Now he is in school and working, while I only work, so we have traded off who does more of the work. He will still take the garbage and recycling out, though, and helps with the dishes and laundry when he has time.
