What exactly is industrial music found in today's world? Many people have been stating that today's "industrial" music is far from it. It seems that many are classifying instrumental music as industrial; just with a machine sound to it. Perhaps that is what industrial was originally. It just seems that many people today have trouble accepting that music changes. With all that said my main question is: Where can people go to find industrial music news, meaning, and sample music?

Like most other musical genres, industrial has splintered into anumber of subsections like EBM, hellektro etc. and a bunch of different sounds. Most of it is pretty far removed from the originals like Throbbing Gristle, Ministry, and Skinny Puppy (although they have stayed pretty faithful to the original sound....just saw them live last month...awesome)...a good place to find out more info is at http://www.industrial-music.com which is the ome of Metropolis records who are home to a bunch of industrial bands.

True. Some people wouldn't classify Skinny Puppy and Ministry as true industrial. Ministry especially since their is a presence of a guitar. I've talked with some real jerks about this genre of music and they basically have it drilled into their skull that "if it doesn't sound like a metal mill, then it's not industrial".
Thanks for the link though, most of the other sites that I have gone to are either shut down or horrible to decipher information.
