My son has this quotation on his MSN peronal maessage. What do you think of it? "If necessity is the mother of invention then what is the father? ..... starvation" (Johnny Hart)

I think there is profound truth in the line though it is humorous. I wonder if there is also invention because people are doing things as part of exploring the universe or the creation which is loaded with meaning and sublimity because the Creator has injected meaning and order into the creation. I doing things for pleasure and inventing something which will greatly benefit humanity will be wonderful! regards, headhunter525

Interesting observation. In fact, many of the great scientists, like JC Maxwell, GW Carver and Michael Faraday, were Bible-believing Christians and viewed their work as a God-honoring pursuit of knowledge of the universe He created, and as a tool to help mankind.
