Not necessarily. If that is the case most would have become artists to stand in the queue to become genius.

Well if you were to ask Mensa, they would be able to give you tests and guidelines to what a genius is. And that seldom has to do with one's artistic abilities. It is also possible for someone to do - or make something, that is considered en genius, without that someone being a genius at all. I guess that goes for artists as well.

No, I wouldn't say so. However, a common trait I see in fellow artists (with some exceptions of course) is that they know themselves especially well and have a tremendous understanding of anything geared toward the realm of emotion. This is probably because they're able to give their feelings an extra demension whether it's music or dance or poetry or some other visual that's representative. And most people I see don't really dig deep into themsleves and their thoughts and put them into visual form. It seems to be a skill most dominant in artists, and it does make artists seem quite intelligent at times. I'd rather talk to another artist about my "problems" than to a psychologist anyday! But I would not say that constitutes a genius. It also seems that even who you consider a genius is all about perspective in some ways as well. I know people who might be considered geniuses by others who I think are as ignorant as can be and vice versa... so it's debatable what criteria one would have to meet to be considered a genius. As for artists I do believe there are many who are more intelligent than average, and studies do show that kids who participate in the arts are more likely to excel academically. So there is a lot of room for fascinating discussion between the arts and academia or artistic talent and natural intelligence and the relationship between the two.

Hello Skydancer, thanks for your answer and valuable information you share. So you are open to talk about your problems to an artist. Why you prefer to turn to them than a psychologist.

no not at all..of course thats just my opinion but its my opinion from personal experience....Now I think it'd be more likely for an artist to be at a genius level mind you but not all artists ARE geniuses by any means....Just like not all geniuses are artists....

Doing good art takes skill, not necessarily talent, or genius as you might call it. Doing great art takes skill and maybe a bit of genius/talent, too. However there are lots of different kinds of genius, so a genius might do art or might do something else, but just being artist doesn't make a person anything special. Being a good artist is hard work. The problem is people can call themselves artists and do bad work and yet convince many others that their art is good, because people who do not have the skills cannot tell the difference. In my view, doing that is not genius, but rather is just fraud.

Being an artist, doesnt nessecarily mean youre a genius over all. However, an artist is "genius" at his skill. Being exceptional/genius in art is a skill. A skill, girl, is something like a talent that not everybody possess. It is in-born thing. For example, not everybody can paint, act, or dance. They need to have that certain extraordinary creativity in art, acting ability in acting or grace in dance. So, Einstein is Genius. Leonardo Da vinci is Master.
