Tomorrow is the first anniversary of me getting laser eye surgery so I'd like to say "Happy Birthday" to my new eyes they are one year old.
Before I had them done I wore contacts for about 22 years and without them I was as blind as a bat.
Now, I wake up in the morning and I can see straight away what time it is without having to grope about on the bedside table for my glasses.
I can swim underwater without fear of losing my lenses.
I can honestly say that having the surgery was the best thing I ever did and I hope if anyone is considering having it done I have helped take some of the fear out of it, because it really really doesn't hurt and I could see straight away afterwards it was like a miracle.

Thank you for sharing this positive experience. My eyes are horrible and I've actually been banned by my eye doctor from wearing my soft contact lenses or any lenses for at least a year. They said Lasik would fix the problem, but I can't afford it. I don't even have vision insurance, so the cost would be too much for me to bear right now. But I won't give up. Someday I hope to be able to do what I've always to do, wake up in the middle of the night, and not trip on anything getting to the bathroom! : )

Thanks for your response.
I was very very spoilt and lucky because my parents paid for my surgery, otherwise I would never have been able to afford it.
I had the lasek which is slightly cheaper but takes a little longer to recover from.
Hang in there and I hope you eventually get them done.
