A good bowling start is necessary for a team to command the situation. India does not always have this advantage. Agarkar started off poorly giving away about 40 runs in the first 4 overs or so. That led England to get off to a flying start and with the asking rate not being a great threat, England were able to play without much pressure.
A poor bowling start is always a problem for India, remember the wayward first over from Zaheer in the 2003 World cup final?
