What shade of lip stick would you absolutely refuse to wear?

For me, the absolute worst shade of lipstick would be burgandy shade or anything too dark. My skin tone just won't stand it. And, surprisingly red is not my color either, when it comes to lipstick. Though I hear lots of women love wearing that shade. Wish I could but I can't!
I suppose if burgandy shade lipstick was the only one available or the only one that I brought along on a trip, then I would simply mix a little bit of foundation into the lipstick to tone it down a bit, so it wouldn't look so severe. I'd probably do that with any shade for that matter!
So, what's the absolute worst shade of lipstick for your complexion? If you went into a store and they only had that shade, would you buy it anyway, just to be wearing lipstick or would you rather go without lipstick than have the wrong color?

I can't use anything bright red or too orangey. I always go for a berry shade which looks best with my coloring. If I went into a store specifically to buy lipstick and they didn't have my color I'd go without or use blush or something on my lips. Or bite them until they got red, LOL!

I share a very similar hair color as your avatar picture. Not sure if that is you in the picture, but me and the person in the pic have similar hair color. So, definitely will give berry shades a try.

for me the golde tones go very bad with my complexion, and any of the very light once, beige, very light pink and such too. I prefer red, and dark pink, dark orange and such

Orange or peach, yuck. I would sooner not bother at all, rather than have to wear these shades.

i'd rather go without lipstick than have the wrong color. I don't like dark color lipsticks. Also red. I usually have lipsticks in shades of pink. Lighter shades. Coz to me it fits to any occassion I'm into if ever. I usually have moist one. If i want it lighter I use my little finger to apply it. If darker then I apply two coats of it.

I hate to wear lip stick. I do not own one. I feel that it gives my lips the artificial look. I only wear lip gloss. It gives the lips the shine and a natural look and finish. I like pale pink or beige color lip gloss.
I would never ever wear any color other than pale pink or beige. These 2 colors are nearer my lips color and gives my lips the natural look and finish. Any other colors would make it look artificial. =D

To me there are several colors which are a no no to me. First would be purple. Purple in all shades are not suitable with me. I've tried wearing it once and I looked like a ghost, it was so ugly and I was ashamed that I didn't notice it earlier.
The second one is dark colors, such as dark brown or black. I can never wear those colors, they make me old in comparison to my age. The third one is red. Yeah, I am not into red lipstick. It also makes me look old ten years than my age.
If there are no suitable colors of a lipstick in a store, I wouldn't buy any of them and I would rather not wear lipstick at all. That way I will look natural and not weird or older than my age.

I'm like you, I don't like deep colors but red also doesn't work for me. I don't usually wear lipstiks because I can't find one that I like on me, I usually just wear a tinted lipgloss, usually some light shade of pink. I'd rather not wear any at all than wear the wrong shade.

Anything very bright I would not wear (mostly pinks and reds). I hardly wear lipstick anyways and if it was the only color there, i would not buy it. I will use lip gloss instead.

I am of Indian origin so have brown skin. I am considered to be a fair to a medium shade of brown and there are colours that I would always avoid such as light pink (would make me look vampish) and dark burgundy (which I hate as a lipstick colour). I have a few favourite shades that I always go for but as your discussion is about colours I wouldn't wear I'll stick to those LOL! I always have dozens of lipsticks at home so if I went to a store and they didn't have my shade, I would wait and try to source it somewhere else as I never get to a stage when I only have one or two lipsticks in my makeup collection:)

I wouldn't wear any red or dark lipstick because those shades dont match my complexion. I usually wear pink and tinted lipsticks. I would rather go without lipstick than have the wrong color.

Frankly, I think I would wear almost any lipstick and just adjust it by applying lightly or heavily or mixing with something BUT I don't like real light lipsticks that make my lips lighter than they are. My sister only wears this weird light shimmer stuff that makes her lips look almost white. I wouldn't wear that. I like color not uncolor. I would just wear gel or cream blush on my lips instead and skip the super light/pale lipstick. I don't mind subtle but lips that look like a corpse, not for me.

Mostly I think that lipstick doesn't suit me full-stop, even though friends and family insist it doesn't look strange! I would have to say the worst shades of lipstick for my complexion would be anything with a copper tone to it. In my teen years I had a favourite lippie that was a bronze/copper colour and I thought it looked 'hot'.... looking back on pictures of a smiling-lippied me, it really was not a good look!
I think because my skin tone has a yellow base the copper shade lipsticks just don't do me any justice!
Now burgandy-purple - there is a shade I enjoy!
bah! each to their own :)

I have very pale skin and also have roscea. I am a redhead who is beginning to grey. Bright red lipstick and bright orange lipstick look hideous on my complexion. I do better with the corals and the brownish/reds such as 'raisin' and other colors. If the wrong lipstick color was the only one available, like you I would probably attempt to alter it in some way and use it. If I go without lipstick, I seem to look too pale and almost ghostly!

Hello Beautyqueen!
I don't wear lipsticks on my lips cause it will darken it but if I were to choose what color I wouldn't wear, I would choose black cause it looks silly.
Have a great shade!^_^

I wouldnt wear any dark colors like deep red, black and the likes. It looks scary and tough. I would rather have no lipstick than to wear something that would not make me look good.

well i would have to say black and really dark burgandy.i use a couple of shades and mix them to give a nice color.i love the earth tones and gloss on top.some reds but not real bright,i guess like a soft cranberry is nice to mixed with a brown.
