hi there. i have an austin mini. the old type. we totally refurbished it and it looks and drives great. i do admit that parts are scarce but you still find some new stuff like gaskets, filters etc in shops. mine was redone after 35 years on the road with the same engine and gearbox. i guess thats quite impressive. how many new cars will last that long?

It's a good buy either of the two. I'm a proud owner of a classic mini cooper i love this car. it really attracts attention especially with the kids. It's what they call Mr. Bean's car. I can suggest that get a 1.3 engine so you can enjoy your mini more.

The old Austin mini-cooper (70s) are great cars, but hard to find spare parts. While the new model Coopers (like the ones used in the movie THE ITALIAN JOB) are quite expensive, but you just ride and drive. Still your choice.
