What do you do when your child does something embarrassing publicly? Should you care more about how others see you or about the feelings of your child? I have seen parents in stores use angry and derogatory words with children who didn't realize what they were doing. Makes me sad.

Hi needy911! I don't have children of my own but I do have experienced those embarrassing moments with my nieces and nephews in public. When that happened, I make sure that I will make the child feel that he can depend on me. I wouldn't offend him or her in any way and make sure that everything will be alright. If it is the child's fault, I tell him or her that what he did is wrong without shaming him in public and still maintaining respect for the child's sensitive feelings. We have to understand that children are always curious and sometimes they get into trouble without knowing it themselves, that is why we are responsible for their actions somehow. Take care and have a nice day!
