it's better to be omniscient... it's the first step to be omnipotent

Definately omniscient because the knowledge would be much better than the power, although you would need the knowledge to be all powerful. However you can be omniscient without being omnipotent, but not the other way around.

I guess I would want to be omniscient. I want the knowledge and awareness, but not the authority.

I assume that you mean Omniscient, in which case I would much prefer to be omnipotent. To be fair, I do not think that you could be omnipotent without also being omniscient.

The differnce between omniscient and omnipotent is that to be omniscient is to be all knowing in a universal and profound sence. To be omnipotent is to have universal authority. To have universal authority, one must first have universal knowledge and awareness. These two do not necessarily go hand in hand. Universal awareness and knowing do not within themselves provide authority. If it did, there would not exist the concept of omnipotence.

If what you are looking for is wisdom, omniscient is the way to go, but if power is what interests you, omnipotent would be the thing to be. You got to remember though, total power equals total corruption. Wisdom is forever and you must use it accordingly.

to be perfectly honest i think i would prefer to be omnipotent. At least then i could at least attempt to put a few things right in the world. Being onmiscient isnt necessarily a gift because you wouldnt be able to do anything with it. You would just know everything that went on in the world

Omniscient is to have infinite awareness, and omnipotent is to have infinite power... I would think that awareness would trump [power, for power without (correct) awareness would be (like) totally disastrous!!! Good thing God is both. And we don't have to be either one. Although some awareness comes in handy! :))
