My mom has lupus

I hate what lupus has done to my mother. It's an enemy. I feel so sad seeing her in pain so often. For 10 years, I've watched her suffer. I've prayed for her so much but it's gotten no better. I have R.A. and that can be painful enough, so I can only imagine how she feels from week to week. I'm pregnant, and my husband and I are preserving our baby's cord blood. But I'm not sure how effective that is in treating lupus. I haven't done much research on it. And plus, my son has a health problem, and I think we may be able to use the cord blood for him, so giving it to her wouldn't be an option for this pregnancy.

I'm sorry that your mother has struggled with lupus. I have also have also dealt with it for 15 years. It changed my life and has caused so many setbacks and painful memories, events, and outcomes. There are times when every day is a struggle. But there have also been days I have been thankful for.
I see that you posted half a year ago. Have you given birth yet? Congratulations if yes. You didn't respond to any of the other people who replied, so as I am new, I am not sure if you are notified with people respond to you. I hope so. Best of luck, and feel free to write to me.

Thanks for your comment. I hope things look up for you--I know it has to be hard physically and emotionally.
Yes, I delivered the baby on Dec. 21st.

Congratulations! I bet the joy of the birth helps brighten your mother up. Another important thing would be that she has the right doctors.
I have had to change even long term doctors of mine, which helped my health immensely. Rheumatologists are the main lupus doctors. But I also have many others like neurologist, nephrologist, hematologist, lung specialist, infectious disease doctors, etc. So, those are important too for her to have.
She can write to me too, if she'd like. :o)

Lupus is an inflamatory disease, right? Try to check her nerves, they might be tensed. Slight massage can be of great help to your mom to releive her pains.
