Well here I am still loyal to mylot lol
I just thought I would pop in and tell you about Little silly brave Gissi lol
I took him to the Park the other Day and there was a Lady there with her ST. Bernhardt beautiful Dog, well Gissi charged over and started barking at the Dog, he was jumping up and down at this Dog, I was going to take him away and the Lady told me not to as her Dog is used to little Dogs, lol, I was more worried about the little Fellow hurting her Dog and she said not to worry
Well there we where trying to talk and Gissi barking his head of and doing all these Jumps in front of the Dog
The St. Bernhardt just looked down at Gissi with Contempt
Gissi started to jump up and down again and the Bernhardt was moving his head up and down with Gissi's Jump lol
But then Gissi got a shock, the Bernhardt laid down on the Floor to come to Gissis Size and barked back at the little Fellow well the Shock only lasted a couple of seconds and for the next 5 Minutes they had a right Conversation going and of course Gissi was talking the most
When the Bernhardt started to roll Gissi got a fright lol and ran in the opposite Direction but came straight back to carry on the Conversation
Well the Outcome I had a Headache and Gissi slept all afternoon it was peaceful lol

LOL! Don't you often find that the smaller animals are far noisier and "braver" than their bigger brothers and sisters? It's as if they feel they HAVE to make much more noise to get themselves noticed! Certainly with my cats, Lily is the smallest and the most "pushy" if you know what I mean, while my Sasha ia a big, "gentle giant" and wouldn't hurt a fly! And I'm glad you're back here Gabs - this place was much poorer without your presence here!

I just am not getting a lot done I am still tired and sleeping a lot which I hate lol
I have missed you to and I really mean that

I was picturing the scene as I read your discussion gabs, and I ended up rolling on the floor splitting my sides! Gissi is certainly not afraid of anything bigger than him; he is quite an entertaining little fellow and must give you many hours of joy. Pity that you ended up with a headache, but at least it tired Gissi out and he slept all afternoon, so you had some peace.

My mixed miniature beagle Dakota is weird in this fashion, she'll shy away from dogs that are much smaller than her, but get her near a big dog and she'll yap and bark her little head off. Even goes as far as trying to leap onto them, trying to get them to play I assume.
They are usually my neighbors dogs, which are brought over to my house since I am the only one with a fenced in yard, usually have 10 or more dogs outside running and playing. I always make it clear to my neighbors that if the play turns into something other than play they won't be allowed to bring their dogs here anymore. Don't want anyone or any dog getting hurt while in my care.

That is a thoroughly wonderful story. I can see it happening. I enjoy your Gissi tales, and hope you have many more to post. I like St Bernards, as long as they belong to someone else. I just have to laugh at the thought of the big dog rolling over onto Gissi.

That's our Gissi! Carrying on the conversation as if nothing had interrupted it! That would have been so funny to see that St. Bernard's head bobbing up and down the same as Gissi's jumping. And to see him bark back....I think I would have been down on the floor with the dogs from laughing too much!

Hi Gabs, Did ya miss me?? lol. I think Gissi was having fun conversing with the st bernard. He probably figured since mom could talk with others then why shouldnt he be able to do the same thing. I also like hearing about Gissi and I know how much you love him. He's like your baby. Keep up the good work and don't let one bad apple spoil the whole bunch. XXX to you my friend.

Well - at least despite the headace, our friendly neighborhood MyLot mascot now has a nice, large buddy. Don't you love happy endings? Too bad we don't understand the Barking language, because it might have not caused you such a headache. I think that running in fright & then coming back to resume the resume the conversation was part of it, probably telling the St Bernard about something that happened to him in the past.
Even with humans, 60% of conversation when in person is actually body language. Talking is only 40%. I think with dogs & cats, the percentage of body language is significantly higher.

The same when Gissi barks or talks which ever way you want to call it his front Paws leave the Floor it looks so funny lol so that could be body Language to

I have to say, gabs, that little Gissi has certainly got a lot of heart! It's nice that the big fellow wasn't intimidated by Gissi, and wanted to become friends. I see so many horror stories about larger dogs attacking the little ones on some of the Judge shows that I watch on tv. I'm happy that Gissi has a new friend. Does Gissi have a pet page yet?

Sweet Gissi!! I can just see it happening.
As a child I had a Toy Fox Terrier appropriately named Teeny. He used to do the same thing every now and then when the man down the street would walk his Great Dane passed our house. It was hilarious.
