is it right to punish our children

where i live in south africa, i have seen the children rights failing both teachers and parents in their bid to give their kids a better future. concerned parents blame the governemt for over protecting children. some parents went on to say that when they were growing up they were beaten up and never died out of it and they see corporal punishment as a solution to tame up our children, who have become unruly, bullies and murderers. tell me your opinion on the coperal punishment. is it the right way to bring back our children to innocence as it was back in the days

Hi there. I dont agree with physical punishment involving children, I do agree with parents punishing children within reason like, kurfew, taking cell phones or playstations and xbox's... Im totally against spanking children and physical punishment though

I think that a spanking is ok, but to beat a child does more psychological harm than good. My son gets a swap on the bottom when he refuses to listen to us. I do not believe in ever beating a child. I think that this is abuse and abusing our right as adults to take care of children.
