my favorite poem is INVICTUS by WILLIAM ERNEST HENLEY. i really love the poem, its simplicity and truthfullness is really something yet very inspiring.
here is the full text version...hope you'll like it.
Invictus
OUT of the night that covers me,
Black as the Pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
For my unconquerable soul.
In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.
Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the Horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds, and shall find, me unafraid.
It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll,
I am the master of my fate:
I am the captain of my soul.

I am the master of my fate: I am the captain of my soul. This is my most favorite line from this poem. Oh, yes, how I love this poem. I learned and memorized it when I was in high school. My English teacher made us, students, memorize it and recite this amazing poem by William Ernest Henley. And I have liked it ever since. As a matter of fact I posted it as a blog on my friendster here http://dzaemnuh.blogs.friendster.com/my_blog/2006/10/invictus.html
