Besides english, I'm fluent in spanish and I speak
some french. Don't you think is fun to speak several
languages? Some people in America get so intimidated
if they only speak english ,and they feel excluded
when others are talking among themselves in a different language. I think is great to be able to
communicate with other people of different countries.
Do you guys agree with me or not?

Yeah, it’s really lots of fun to be able to speak several languages especially when we travel in a foreign country. Other than Chinese I could also speak English, Malay and several dialects of my people.
We could use a dialect s which is not known by foreigners when in private conversation with our companions while bargaining with the seller or shopkeeper of the outlet in a foreign country we visited. In this way we could make the bargaining more effective and interesting as well lol...

I do speak more than one language. It's not only great talk with other people all around the world, but also it s pretty importnat today.I don't know about here, but in Europe, there are at least 2 or more foreign languages in the school. And I think is very good to teach kids speak in other languages. When I would have kid, I will teach him/her at least languages, which I know.
By the way I speak 5 languages and try to leanr another one.

for me its not really important to speak more than one language even if theres is some benefits that we can get from it, The only the thing I really want to be fluent is English because am not so good of speaking this dialect, Am a filipino and we spoke our own dialect that is why its really hard for me to speak english that is why for me I keep on practicing until such time, it will be easy for me to speak english.

it's wonderful to master several languages, especially in modern society. those who grow up in multilingual countries have great more chances than those in monolingual countries. i can speak chinese , english, and a little japanese. in my opinion, if one can speak in different languages, he can make more pals from different countries , therefore his world will be more broad.

Besides Chinese,my mother language,I can speak English.Last year,I learned some Japanese, but I don't use it often, and I just learn a little, now I almost fogot it.Therefore,if you want to grasp some language, you should practice it as often as possible.

With all the colonizing our country has experienced, we sure are rich in different languages. The three main countries that colonized us were America, Spain and Japan. Not to mention the barter trade relations our country to have with China, India and the whole Asian continent. We have adopted some of their languages and used some of them into our own language, we also have indegenous people who still uses their languages also those people who are from the different parts and provinces of the Philippines.
It is always a gift that most of the non-native english speakers can understand the English language, as they are indeed jealous for learning just their very own dialect.

My native language is English but I am fluent in Spanish as well. I have had many job opportunities because of my ability to read, write and speak Spanish. In my current job as a 911 Dispatcher, I am used frequently to translate in investigations as well. It is an added bonus to speak more than one language. To be able to communicate and learn new cultures.

Unfortunately I only speak English, although when spoken to me, I can understand a little Spanish, German & French.
I went to Austria last year, not speaking any Deutsch and still managed to speak to those who understood a little English, it was a great system, and I picked up the language a little during my few weeks there.
I am all for multi-lingual beings and would love to have the patience to be one myself.
Being intimidated is certainly not the 'right' reaction so such a situation.
Whenever there is a group close by speaking another language, I love to listen and admire, and try to understand what they are saying.
