Frumpy, dumpy looking mother?

I am not a frumpy mother. I wear my fitted pants/jeans, cute dresses, and cute tops. But for some reason I end up feeling frumpy anyway. I never felt that way before the babies. Does anyone else ever feel this way? What is it about being a mom that makes some people feel this way? If you never feel this way, give me a tip for feeling better...

I don't know if you can do anything about that. When I get my nails done and my hair done, I feel much more sharp about my image and not so frumpy, but most often I can't afford to do those things and try to do what I can to make myself feel better at home. I do feel frumpy sometimes but I just let it go and the next day I feel better. My duaghter always tells me I look good when we go out so that helps!

ah the joys of aging...even though i am still a hip mom i am begining to show the signs of wear and tear...sagging in certain areas, too much weight around the middle, hair turning a little grey around the edges and a daughter starting highschool next week! oh man am i old!

I think that as a Mom we stay very busy with all of our responsibilities and sometimes , especially when the kids are young, we pay more attention to our babies than to ourselves. Maybe we dont paint our nails as often or freshen the makeup as much. It is the little things like that, that help us to feel better about ourselves sometimes. I think we all just have "bad hair" days and feeling balh days. If it is just a day, then chalk it up to just being an off day. If you feel that way more than just a single day here and there, then maybe buy yourself a new outfit, get a new haircut, treat yourself to a manicure or pedicure, or change your workout routine to tone up certain spots that bother you.

I too feel this way even after getting "ready" to go out somewhere I still have that frumpy feeling. No matter how my hubby says I look or my daughter I still have that feeling. I think its because we do not have the time or the rest that we need to. I mean think of before kids we has a good soild hour or more to get ready (i used to take my time getting ready do 1 eye of make up go start my hair then the other eye) but not I have caught myself not usinga mirror at all to put on my eye shadow!Because I cant find my makeup mirror because my daughter (age 5) has it hidden somewhere! LOL! So I guess the lack of sleep and the rush to get presentable all pays some part into our frumpyness feelings but just know that your not alone!! =)

I think it's due to lack of time to primp. ;) A spa day would help. I know for me if I could just go get my hair done I'd feel so much better.
