John Lennon - Who would you like to sit with for an hour?

I would have loved to have spent one hour sitting and talking with John Lennon from the Beatles. Not only did I love his musical talent but also his way of thinking. Granted I wasn't thrilled with his choice of women but it was his choice. Recently I watched a documentary called US vs. John Lennon and it was one of the best I've ever seen. I knew about everything it talked about since it was "back in my time" but it was just great getting to see it all again and hear John's thoughts on the world, people and politics. Like most performers he had his problems with the law and drugs but nobody is perfect right? I always thought John Lennon was an awesome person. Who would you like to spend one hour with with? What would you say to him/her? Would it only be for their talent or for other reasons?

Dave Mustaine of Megadeth, Jennifer Connelly, or perhaps to guest star on the Jon Stewart Show...

Megadeth...still rockin' hard. Truth be told, though, the older I get, the less I listen to the heavy, hard, and fast types of music. But, (assuming here that Mustaine is the brains behind Megadeth's lyrics) I think the man is highly intelligent and observant of the state of things....

I have to admit some of the weirdest musicians are the most intelligent.

Hello Ctrymuziklvr,Hmmm, it's a toss up between Dean Martin, Johnny Carson, Mae West, Andy Griffith, or Richard VanDyke. All talented, for sure. Yet, my reason for choosing any one of these five is that they strike me as some of the most interesting, accomplished, level-headed and genuine (grounded) entertainment personalities from recent history. Geesh, imagine the stories any one of the above could tell!Of course, if time were no conseration, I would absolutely love to spend that hour with either William Shakespear, Geoffrey Chaucer, or Benjamin Franklin. I realize that one can't consider these three as performers per se, but for their time, their writing skills elevated them to notariety. So, it may be a leap, but I'll stick with these three as my first choices.

Incidentally, I referenced Richard VanDyke because MyLot would not allow submission of the actor's actual stage name. Yup, I'm talking about the same Richard (use abbreviation) VanDyke who starred opposite Mary Tyler Moore, in the self titled show from the 40s-50s. Oh, and I almost forgot to include Lucille Ball. Wow, would she ever have some stories to tell?

Like Zukepr, I too would wish to spend an hour with Criss Angel, the famous magician and illusionist. I very much enjoy watching his Mindfreak showa on TV and I am absolutely bowled over by his unique tricks. I've been told that these are all staged and that nothing is real. I would love to stand right in front of him when he performs, so that I can witness firsthand for myself if the tricks are real or just illusion. That would be an interesting revelation.

Yes, they say these are all illusions and I love Criss Angel. I try not to miss a mindfreak show because I'm just awed by it all.

I've hung out with a few bands in my time...from when I used to follow some and work in a radio station. I think someone I love that I'd love to meet still would be Tommy Lee. Not because he's some amazing musician, but more because he's hot. Or Ben Folds, I love him musically and I think he's a great person. I don't know. An hour isn't really that long if it's someone you admire.

Your right about that! An hour is definitely not long enough. Especially if your spending it with Tommy Lee!

I'd say Dane Cook, he's hillarious, down to earth, he's like a real person and not an uptight celebrity like most. i think he would be way easy to just chill and hang out with, it would be fun.

Anyone as funny as Dane Cook would have to be a hoot to hang out with.

If I can spend one hour with a famous performer... it would be with Elvis Presley. I am not a big fan of this guy. I barely knew this guy because I was not yet around when he was famous. But up to now he is still very famous. If given a chance, I would like to have a chat with this guy to see what these people liked about him. And maybe asked him to do his famous moves...

I would have to spend a week with Elvis! One hour would not be enough. Not only was he talented but gorgeous to boot.

If I could spend one hour with a famous performer it would be Bryan Adams. I'm a big fan of him since I was a kid. He's really talented! He's a singer, a songwriter, guitarist and a photographer. He's even considered as the best-known rock musician of his time.

I would have a hard time picking just one as there are a lot of performers that I would like to meet. However, I think that Johnny Cash or Elvis Presley would be two of the best to talk with as far as being able to give a wide amount of discussion on the music industry and all.

Two of my favorites as far as country music goes but I still have to stay with John.

I already know that I will be slammed for this, ctry, but my choice would have to be Michael Jackson. My reasons are because I think he is the most dynamic performer that I have seen in my lifetime; I believe that there is so much more to him than people are willing to see; and he has within him the most compassionate heart and real love for the human race. Sure, he might not have always used the best judgment, but I think he may have finally learned a lesson.

I'm sure you will be...lol but I agree with you. He was especially awesome back in the Thriller days. Like I say...nobody is perfect.

A few people come to mind...I wouldn't mind spending time with and talking to actor Viggo Mortensen of Lord Of The Rings fame...we have a lot of creative artistic similarities..artist, photography, musician, writer..and acting...I did study and was a Drama Major. You're mentioning John Lennon..yes, wouldn't mind talking to him to...his philosophy was such a wonderfully peaceful one, so it's tragic and ironic both that for such a peaceful person he was killed so violently
