How do you feel about people "dropping in" without calling first?

Me? I prefer a little warning...say a week so that I can clean my house! :-) Not really, but seriously I would prefer some notice.
Family I don't mind so much because they know me and they are not going to go through my house and point out all the dust...at least I don't think so. Well my sister may.
For strangers, ie people who I don't know very well or who had not previously been to my home, I prefer some notice.
What about you? Do you like "surprise" guests?

I definitely prefer people to let me know that they're coming by first. It's not so much of a problem since we've moved, and no one has seen our place at all, but where we used to live, everyone knew where it was, and people would stop by at all hours of the day and night! The ones who came by late at night were always the ones that I disliked the most, because I was usually in bed by 10 p.m., and didn't want to get up just because someone was banging on the door.

That could be another topic for discussion...people who drop by all hours of the day or night!!!
I try not to call people past 10:00pm let alone go to their houses at the time, except maybe for a party and then again if a party starts after its dark and I'm not already out, chances are I'm NOT going to be at that party!!

Hi Cecelia,
Yep, I don't like people come by too suddently... You know, my living room is kind of a secret for me, I don't wish some one, even my best friend break in & see my another part:)
