I've been trying to do whatever I can, to make awareness of dogfighting, as the terrible sport that it is, and I am getting emails from the Humane Society and keeping track of the arrests and stuff. They have letters and videos on their site, some are just too graphic, and I can't stand to watch them, they make me cry, and just sick, that human beings can be so cruel. Anyway, they have letters on there, that you can sign and email to different places in protest, and stuff. I thought you might be interested. Maybe the more of us that complain, and stand up for what is right, the harsher the penalties will be.

I just watched the video and it has brought tears to my eyes. I can't believe how cruel some people can be. If this happened to them would they like it?..These poor puppies and dogs are worth so much more than this. It just sickens me to no end that people are so cruel. I only wish people that do this are punished severly. They don't deserve anything good in their lives.
Thank you for this information and I will be doing all I can to help stop this cruelty. These animals need us.

I am glad you have brought this to our attention..any way to fight cruelty and injustive, however we can is better than not doing any thing at all.I will take a look, even though I may cringe at the more yacky bits because I have a very sensitive tummy..But I will write to them too and see what I can do also. I am so glad that you are bringing that site to everyone here hon. As you know, I'm already a member there, and it is so worth it. I know that some of the videos and stories are a little hard to deal with, but if they bring awareness to people in this world as to all of the cruelty that is going on, and of all the things we can do to try and prevent it, then they are very much worth it. Thanks again my friend.

Oh, I'm positive that this thing with Michael Vick has most definitely brought a lot more awareness to the public eye as to the cruelties against animals going on in this world. So now I think more and more people will be on the lookout for things like that. People like Mr. Vick make me sick to my stomach too hon. I know how you feel.

I think so too, it's such a shame that all those poor dogs had to be tortured for it to be brought to light, but hopefully alot of lives have been saved now, because of it.

You're so welcome. With that in the spotlight so much now, it just makes me more hopeful, that with the high profile Michael Vick case, that maybe they'll finally do something more. They broke up this ring in my own town, recently, and I haven't heard anymore about it, since they let the idiots out of jail, and they broke in and stole back 3 of their dogs, and I read where they arrested some more in Dayton, a week or 2 ago, and it's being brought out more now, so I'm hoping they'll finally start making harsher punishments, and give them what they deserve. I am sick of thinking about these cruel people on this earth.

Thanks brendakaya...I do plan to do a lot of e-mailing...I do this with PETA too and their website alerts...I just couldn't bring myself to watch any of the videos, otherwise I'd be taking the computer and throwing it out the window in disgust....I've seen enough terrible videos on the PETA site about how farm animals are raised for consumer production..

I get PETA stuff too. I have for several years, and it's always so upsetting. I would just open it up, take out the form, and evelope, write a little check, and not look at what else was inside. I tried to look at some of these videos on the Humane Socitey's website today, and I even thought about puttinmg the one on my website. I just handled a few seconds of the Hulk Hogans' and when I saw the poor dogs fighting, I started crying and stopped it. It saddens me so much. I hate these people, and wish nothing but the worst on them.

I don't know what it's about, either, but it's still sad. We gotta keep sending those petitions.

Our civilization perpetuates violence and exploitation of animals. There is little perpetuation (Aside from your group) for the rights of animals. For some strange reason, people believe they are dogs owners and have the right to treat animals anyway they please. The truth, in my opinion, is that individuals only have the right to be CAREGIVERS to animals and that once you take a dog home you are 100 responsible for caring for that animals needs and not degrading or exploiting that dog in any way, shape, or form. (Term caregiver is derived from my work as a social worker. As a social worker, caregiver was the term we used to define the relationship between children and individuals under whose care they were placed. At one time, children were property and had no rights much like dogs.) Animals today have some rights, but not many. Personally, I believe dogs and cats have spirits, and my own personal code instructs me that I am only a caregiver to the animals. I want to treat the animals as unique indviduals and persoanlities. Hopefully, in the future, your group will change society's attitude towards the rights of animals.

I agree with you 100%. I want them to make the penalties for animal abuse, such as dog fighting, and other cruelty, big enough, that people will actually stop and think about what they're doing, and realize it's not worth it. I don't want to see them get slapped on the hand anymore, they need to pay big. It's a proven fact that people who enjoy torturing animals, eventually like to move on to people. It needs to stop. I want everyone that knows or even suspects this kind of activity, to turn these people in.

Well because I am not a US citizen, I can't sign stuff like that, but I fully endorse your views. Animal cruelty is the most sickening thing in the world. I fight it every way I can. Lcukily dog-fighting is really not prevalent (even illegally) here in England, - but that doesn't mean bad things don't go on here too. I wish you luck in your quest.
