It says here medical community has known for years that u can take active birth control pills continuously, going from one pill packet straight into the next and skipping the weeks worth of placebos,to put your period on an indefinite hiatus,.But most gynecologists don't broadcast this information to their patients cos even though the practice is considered safe, the FDA has yet to approve oral contraceptives specifically for that purpose.
To understand why you can skip your period, you need to know what happens during your cycle.youre utirine lining grows thick every month to secure and nourish a fertilized egg.If an egg isn't fertilized, hormones level plunge, causing the tissue and cells of the lining to slough off and dis charge ae ur menstrual flow. All of that changes when your on the pill, which contains hormones that trick your body into thinking its already pregnant, there by preventing release of eggs and build up of the linings. As a result, the lining stays very thin-one eight to one quarter of an inch thick, while the lining of non pill users can thicken up to five-eights of an inch.
