I don't think that there is a lot of talk about the universal wage proposal. At least I don't hear about it. I learned about it a few years ago, and thought that the concept was fair. This is what the main points are: That instead of being paid a min. wage per hour of work you would be paid according to the economy of where you are living. It would be based on the cost of what you would have to pay for housing, food, clothing, utilities etc. It would be increased as the cost of living increases in the state that you live in.
It's pretty simple when you think about it because for everyone who has worked making min. wage you know how hard it is to live on. Often you are forced to work more than one job and still it is difficult to make ends meet. Do you think that it's fair for the government to decide how much you should make or when you should get an increase in pay? If the government can give major corporations tax cuts, tax breaks and make loopholes so that they don't pay their fair share should the people have the power to set the rules on how much the government is paid? Is it possible to have a comfortable life living on min. wage? Do you think that the universal wage is feasible? Could it work?
I would like to know what you think about the subject? Please share your thoughts..
