What is the best way to get more responses

From what I've noticed the little time I've been here is you have to find a common discussion that just about any one, any age can relate to. More people will likely respond. Another thing I do is to try to have catchy subject lines to grab peoples attention to read your discussion. My last thing i noticed is people who have a lot of friends tend to get the most responses because probably like me, they go to the section that reads discussions my friends started' and you get to respond to more discussions as well.
