School Uniforms

I know I hated wearing a uniform at school but they do have advantages. There can sometimes be a problem with people wearing "trendy" clothes when some people can't and maybe they will get bullied for not having the latest fashions. Also, if you have a uniform, it is better in a way because it is smart and you don't have to think about what you are going to wear so you can keep your good clothes for another occassion! I think schools should make sure their uniforms are comfortable and reasonable because some of them are awful. I think that's the only reason for not having them. If they were comfortable and kept up to date or at least if it's just trousers and a certain coloured shirt, that should be ok. I didn't mind most of my school uniform but I had to wear a tie which was horrible and we had disgusting green jumpers! I hope that's helped you out a bit. I think that's a yes for school uniforms from me.

i'm actually all for uniforms in schools. i think it's a good idea and i always wanted one when i was in school. i think kids would make fun of other kids less. there wouldn't be compatition of who has the best label or who can wear the hottest skankiest clothes.

Hi, I gues they are ok, but I personally think that they could do away with uniforms and just have a basic dress code, like dark pants, jeansor skirt, and a solid color shirt. That way you can still express yourself but not offend anyone at the same time.

I wouldn't mind seeing a basic uniform put in for the schools. Nothing fancy or anything. Basic pants (or a skirt for the girls if they want) and a simple shirt. Even just having them all wear jeans and a t-shirt that are all the same would work in my opinion. It would save a lot of problems for parents. The cost of all the different clothes, the arguements in the mornings about what they are wearing etc. If it's something basic and reasonable then it makes sense. If it's elaborate uniforms that can only be bought in one spot at expensive prices then no. We need to keep in mind most are on a budget.

I have never really had an opinion on this. If I had to wear a uniform, I would hate it, because I like having my own style and wearing clothes I enjoy to wear. But I can see why it also would be positive, because there are kids out there who can't afford to have many clothes, and maybe if everyone was wearing the same thing they wouldn't feel so different. It goes both ways.

i think having school uniforms sloves ur problem a big deal , not having one takes much of ur time in da morning deciding wat to wear and wat no to wear , and also if every one in school wears the same uniform than there wont be any issuse of bullying of some children on the types of the clothes they wear when coming to school

I am all for school uniforms! Kids concentrate better at school because they are not worried about who is wearing what or who has more money and can afford name brand items. Everyone is equal...they are also cheaper in the long run and there is no argument about what to wear to school. It's already chosen for them.

I agree with pumpkinjam it's less hectic in the morning trying to figure out what to wear. I wish my kids' school had the uniform thing going on

No. i think all teenagers express thier thoughts or feelings in everything that they were, whether they're preppy, goth, or just dont give a heck. it is apart of us that they cant take away.

i know i hated school uniform when i wasin school,, but it actually has some benefits.. i mean u dont have to worry about wat u wear everyday.. cuz u already know heeh.. ppl wont have to actually look their best,, cuz all r equal!! and i think its better so some wont wear short, and some wont come without clothes to school!!! so thats good.. no worries,, better education
