You know, family photos, paintings, that sort of thing, or are your walls plain. I thought I had just a few photo frames, until I really had a look. There's lots of wedding photos, photos of my son, paintings, a barometer and even a framed picture of my favourite sports team. I do know of someone who has photos of ancestors he would never have met. How about you? What have you got on your walls? What's the strangest thing?

Let's see. I have a few things up on my walls. In my bathroom there is nothing. Okay I lied, there is a clock on the wall. In my kitchen I have some pans and clocks. In my dining room I have 2 clocks. In my living room I have a couple of pictures of family, my husband, me, kids and grandkids. I also have a clock in the living room. I have 2 pictures from my grandma where I grew up when I was little. In the computer room I have 3 clocks, don't know why so many we only have 4 walls...LOL..I have a couple of pictures of my first husband., pics of my kids, grandkids, nieces. I have 3 calendars. My son's graduation diploma is hanging on the wall also...My son has a house hanging on his wall in his bedroom..Not a picture of a house, an actual model of a house he did in drafting class...I guess that could be the strangest thing..

I really don't know why we have so many. In our bedroom we also have 3 digital clocks...I did notice that the ones in the kitchen are all regular numbers and the ones in the living room and dining room are all roman numerals..As far as timed showers, nope. It is just a clock my hubby found and we have so many already he decided to put it in the bathroom...And then there are the clocks on the two computers we have...No they don't make any noise because I won't let them...LOL

Well when I had my own room, my walls were filled, mostly with sketches I had done, they were mainly portraits. I was really into that some time back, and since there was no other place to keep all those sketches I chose to display them on my walls.
But now I share my room with two other sisters and since we got the room freshly painted, there is nothing on the walls, except one painting of a vase, that our other sister brought over and a wall clock.
The strangest thing I did have in my room, before that, was a golden tree that I had spray painted in one corner of the room with a silver cloudy moon on top and green leaves on the tree. I really loved that one. But now it's gone, I think I still have a picture of it though, let's see if I find it...

I was into portrait sketching for a while, too, still do some from time to time, but always kept mine in a folder. I did a self portrait once from a mirror, and as I have a freckle on one side of my nose, it ended up on the wrong side of my sketch, lol! It is harder to put something on the wall after a fresh coat of paint! Your golden tree sounds unusual!

in our house there's only images of Jesus and other saints. but only a few. and some calendars. and then there's one framed cross-stitch i made. ^__^ when i was living in a boarding house back in college, i had calendars which i made as a mini-diary. LOL i put there every major thing that happened to me for the day and plans for the following days. i wrote there all the birthdays of my friends also. ^__^
and then i had some wallscrolls of my favorite anime characters and some posters. ^__^

I just made it a mini diary and I often write a one-liner like, "we went overnight to the beach". ^__^ I have a separate real diary.

Hi, i think there are so many different kinds of people and each one has their own choices and preferences, so it would vary from person to person too.
I for one prefer plain walls with just a few , rare pictures and paintings, in the main sitting , entrance area. I think its easier to keep the walls clean that way, plus it gives a larger apprearance to the room. The other rooms do have posters, and pictures on the walls, though not too many, but there is one room we have kept exclusively for a full family gallery photos, where we have photos of my parents and their side of relations, my husbands parents and his relations, our kids etc, so its fun to go to that room and be lost in those thoughts.
I feel these pictures are private and very few would understand and appreciate them, so keep them in a special room instead, and keep the painitngs and other antiques, shelves etc, in the main hall, as those require lesser attention, dusting and are better there.

I think that's a good idea to have like a special room of family photos, almost like a family room or memory room! I guess one way to look at it is it saves having to drag out the photo albums every time you want to go on a trip down memory lane!

Thanks for the reply, and yes i do also believe that all; memories we as a tis cannot have and keep in one place as they are never enough, but hen its always better to go to special place where, whenever we want to , we have everything in front of our eyes, and makes us go back in time . If we see these pictures daily, we tend to loose their value too.Have a nice day :)

My walls are covered in pictures, paintings, photos, shelves with clocks etc.
I'm a collector and in most rooms in my house, I have shelves with all my accumulated items on them.
My house is very homely and comfortable - it looks lived in, rather than blank walls and a few photos on a bench.

Ha, I've got lots of clocks as well, and I think most of them have been a gift from my mother. I'm not sure what she's trying to tell me, as I've always been quite a punctual person, lol! A house that looks lived in is good, that's like mine. I think it would be very boring with plain walls!
