I was thinking about Christmas, which is one of my favorite holidays. It's not because of the presents as much as it's about the music, the decorations, the smells, and the colors! I love all that.
Christmas music is so happy and makes me feel good inside. It sings of giving and peace and good will to mankind and of course the birth of a savior. All happy thoughts!
The decorations are so gorgeous, all that silver and gold, glitter, garlands, wreaths, the tree and all its wonderful decorations. The homemade ones that the kids make every year, the one your mom gave you when your first baby was born and all those Hallmark ones that are your favorite characters and they just make you feel great to look at them!
Christmas smells good! The baking, the spices, the tree, the wreath, the candles, the chocolate! Cinnamon, frankinsense and myrrh, pine scented real trees, I love it all! It's delicious and makes me happy!
And the colors of Christmas! Maybe this should be with the decorations but really, all those bright, cheerful, happy colors - red, green, silver, gold and now, you can use any colors that you want! You can have purple garlands & decorations, or dusky pink, you can have pearl garlands or garland made from almost anything that you can think of! It's all good!
Have you thought about what you will be doing for Christmas? Stay at home with just your immediate family, go to relatives, have all the relatives come to your house?
What about the tree? Will you have a real one or a fake one?
Will you be buying presents this year?
Or maybe you will be making presents? Cookies, cakes, crafts, clothes, floral arrangements, photo books, Bible covers, crochet doilies, doll houses, play forts, coupons for various tasks like babysitting or one night out of your choice, the possibilities are endless.
There are only 119 days til Christmas. Let the countdown begin....

I love Christmas, but I'm also looking forward to Thanksgiving and the Macy's parade. I want to have a real tree this year- I love the smell and the excitement of Christmas morning. But I don't think I'll be buying a ton of presents- just a few for my family.

Well, the truth is as early as September of every year we are starting putting up our ready-made Christmas tree and decorations in our living room. We put the bright and flashing lights around the tree and begin to play CD carols. That's how we are excited to spend or celebrate our Christmas. We are thinking on what surprises or gifts to give our family members and friends on the eve. We are planning ahead of time on what to prepare for that special day and the new year's eve. Of course, we won't forget to include our favorite recipe which is the spaghetti and 'pancit' noodles for long lives, so the Chinese say. SO about 119 days more to go...before the red letter day comes. Merry Christmas in advance to all.

I've been making some presents. We probably will not have a tree this year, we don't actually do very much of Christmas at our home, mostly at our parents'.

Christmas is my favorite holiday and I have been given thought to it as well . I have started my shopping as I like to start as early as I can so I have lots of time to buy all the gifts that I know others will enjoy . I love the excitement on Christmas morning on the faces of my children , I love the way the family all gets together and this is the one day of the year that everyone is just so happy and jolly . It is a time when family seems to spend more quality time together and building memories that will last a lifetime .
We will have a real tree as my husband wouldn't have it any other way . He doesn't find it looks or feels the same with an artificial tree . The family will all come over to our house for dinner on Christmas day as it is the one day of the year I love to make a big dinner and know everyone will enjoy . I will make my ham dinner that everyone loves and will also cook up a turkey , we have mashed potatoes and scallop potatoes and will have turnip , peas and carrots . We always have a few kinds of pickles and cranberries . Gravy for the potatoes and a couple of different kinds of desserts . The children always build a gingerbread house before Christmas and end up eating on Christmas day .
My sister is going to have her first son on the first of January so we will try to make it up to see the family from away as they don't live close by . It will be a nice time to enjoy the holidays and see my new nephew and with all the Christmas cheer will just make it so much nicer !!
Let the countdown begin !!!

I too, get excited about Christmas. I love christmas music and all the pretty colors. I don't care that some people dont want to talk Christmas now. I love to talk Christmas at all times of the year. I will sit and listen to Christmas music at anytime of the year. When I get to missing the holiday!! I love it!!

Wow! I knew it was coming fast, but not that close! We always have a family get together at my sisters house and the family comes over there. This year we seem to be on a time crunch because she got flooded a couple of months ago and all the paperwork and now the work that needs to be done to the house is taking such a long time! But, either way, it will either be at her house or my house. We all make side dishes and she makes the big stuff, turkey and dressing and all those things. I make cookies and pies, and some side dishes. We only buy for the children in our family, Christmas is for kids! I enjoy the holidays, decorating, the scents, the decorations, the lights and all that glitters in gold! I think this year we will have a real tree, but I am not decided on that yet. I guess I need to start some shopping, though!

what?! now you did it! had to go and mention the C word didnt you? lol. i also love the decorations and the baking!
we have a really neat fake xmas tree with these fiber optic lights in all the branches and needles..looks so neat at night, it changes colors and does a kind of swirling pattern..very mesmerizing. ive sat for 2 hours watching it before i realized how long id been sitting in the dark!!
im pretty sure we are staying home this year. been kind of an expensive year when comes to having to fix things that kept breaking! ugh.
i also think it should be illegal to even mention the word Christmas before Halloween gets here! LOL!!

Well, I go to other people's houses. Before mom went into the health care center, we'd go to her place, then last year we went to my brother's. I'll also probably go out to my roomie's folks. We don't have a tree, real or fake, because of the cats. And that works for me. Some years I put up lights outside, but didn't last year & its not looking too good for this one either.

I love Christmas! Its a time that I can be a kid again. Starting right around Thanksgiving we put up our tree (we broke down and switched to artificial last year). We hang lights in every window whether anyone on the street can see them or not.
I love to bake and cook so all of our family members get fudge (a variety pack) that we make here.
I love how excited my kids get when that time comes around. Oh those commercials drive me nuts when my almost 5 yo says I want that about everything that comes on, but the joy on their face as they dream is priceless.
As far as gift giving goes we exchange names with one side of the family so every child buys for another child (cousin). We make house gifts for my inlaws (brother, sister, and inlaws).
For our kids we try to keep it to about 300.00 a piece at most. That's 900. just for our kids. Then add in the cousins and teachers and it gets pricey.
