Is The Stereotyping of Students Acceptable?

I've been on my summer break from University classes and have heard a lot of offensive comments from people lately who aren't students. Some of these include: * Students have it easy, they don't do work * Students should EXPECT to have financial difficulties, after all, they get to sit on their a(starstar) while the rest of the citizens work * Most students get free government money if they apply, so they should quit whining about their finances * Students are mostly lazy, anyway - young adults who don't want to go out in the world and work Are these statements acceptable to you?

No, I can't say that those comments are acceptable in the least. Because students do work hard to study. I know there are a few bad apples in the barrel, but over all, it is not so! I know how hard it is for students to have to study, most do work part time to full time and living in a dorm is not easy in the least. Some do get government assistance, but honestly most don't and have to take out school loans that can amass into many thousands of dollars. It is not a fair assumption.
