In Church, we read different passages in The Bible. I'm just curious as to how many of us have actually read the entire Bible. I myself, have not read it. In fact, I sadly admit that I don't read my Bible unless I'm in Church.
If you have read The Bible from start to finish, how long did it take you? What were your thoughts after reading it?

I have read the entire Bible a few times. Mostly now I will read a particular book of the Bible. Often I read online or use Bible Study software.
This year our church is encouraging everybody to go through the Bible in one year using a booklet giving suggested passages each day.
The more I read the Bible, and study it using commentaries, study Bibles, and such, the more I get from it.
Some folks like to get into the habit of reading Scripture a little at a time, like 5 or 10 minutes a day. Maybe you could give that a try.
Wishing you the best of success in your Bible reading and study.

I have never even thought of reading the bible from start to finish. I use to go to bible study and we would read certain passages. I never understood what they meant, so the thought of reading it by myself gives me a headache.

Hi racheld,
It's good to hear that there are people interested in the Bible like you. Personally, I read the whole Bible twice when I was a new Christian. My enthusiasm was so hight that time. Today, I'm reading a chapter or a passage everyday. If you're really a Christian, it is a delight to read God's instruction to you. Like when you're in love, you're very eager to read a love letter from your loved one. You can read it everyday without getting tired.
Same with the Bible. After reading the whole Bible, you feel a satisfaction saying to yourself, "At last, I did it." If the devil knows the Bible, how much more Christians!
The length to finish reading the whole bible depends on your motivation and discipline! It can take you a month or a year. The important thing is we learn and apply what we learn!
Anyway, what church are you attending?
Hope to hear from you!
