Indian roads are not suitable for fast driving and thats y it can cause fatal accidents.
What abt other countries? How many of you like to drive fast? and y?

Yes that happens with everyone. Y would anyone like to drive slow when he or she can speed up.
Though i would say its better to be careful.

theres nothing better than be careful but sometimes it seems to me that people going slow on the freeways really can cause i lot more accidents... i dont even wanna tell u how many times i was behind a old man or a woman that keep on using the break in a clear road... that really gets to my nerves!

Yea i agree with u. In a highway if u r slow, there is more chances of an accident. Here in india u have to drive at least in the 80km/ph speed.
It totally depends on the road. Good answer.

I love to drive fast wearing the seat belt of course while driving a car.As many say it is dangerous but then sometimes i love to drive fast.I normally drive fast only on roads having less traffic.I like fast driving becasuse it gives me a feeling of exhilaration and excitement while doing it.So why do you like driving fast? You should not drive fast just because you are out of your mind. Be careful

Hi raga,
Thanks for your response. I dont drive fast always but u know occasionally i drive at some speed which can be dangerous in mumbai roads.
It gives me pleasure and its a stress releaser. So sometimes driving fast may ease u up.
And yeah i also drive fast with a seat belt on... not becoz of the safety factor but becoz of the heavy fines the traffic constables charge.. lol

I don't drive fast. Lately, driving scares me. I understand the feeling of release that you get from driving fast. But it is not for me. One of my worst fears is driving.

Hi,
Iam sorry to hear that u dont like to drive these days. I understand when one is not feeling good or is not at peace driving becomes a burden and cause accidents.
So take some time off and you can be back in the driving seat.
Cheers,

I like driving fast but withing sensible limits. Where I live and work, it's not possible to drive fast as there is permanently traffic on the roads, buses, kids, MILIONS of bicycles, etc. I have driven for over 20 years without an accident (touch wood) and aim to continue driving without injuring myself or anyone else. I live to drive fast on the motorway but I always ensure I leave a sensible stopping distance between myself and the car in front of me in case of accidents further ahead. I have been on a defensive driving course years ago which wasn't about driving on the defensive but rather to ensure you are aware of other dangerous drivers around you and how to avoid ending up in their line of fire if they have an accident. I was very proud to be told that my driving was in the top 5% when it came to consideration for other drivers on the road :)
Over here in the UK you can get points on your license for driving too fast as well as fines. If you get more than 12 points you get disqualified from driving and then it costs a fortune for your insurance when you get your license back and some companies will actually refuse to insure you. I am happy to say I've never had any points and will keep it that way - as someone once said to me about motorway driving "if you're gonna drive fast, make sure some other bugger is driving faster so the cops can go after them!" LOL

Hi,
Thanks for responding. Yes u r right that accidents can occur without any fault of yours. Here in india people overtake from both the sides. Most of the accidents are becoz of overtaking from the wrong side. While driving in India beware of the bus and the truck drivers especially during nights.
Yes in the western countries the rules are more strict and rightly so. My dad learned to drive in Bahrain and there he was in a lot of trouble for a minor accident.
I think the point of keeping good distance dont arise in india, as there is so much trafiic here.

Nope not really I dont drive fast unless if there is no one on the road like on the high way or there very few people then I would drive 10 miles over. On regular roads I usally dont drive fast unless if im in a hurry to get somewhere and theres no one in front of me and of course I have to not see any cops lol. But I just dont want to get a ticket for speeding.

I have to learn driving first to love driving fast LOL! I think driving fast isn't safe. But sometimes its fun & sometimes neccessary too. Manytimes while travelling, the car drivers we hired were quite fast drivers & I enjoyed manytimes car going so fast (on highways only), but not always as it feels risky sometimes.

Hi,
Driving is fun.If u dont drive u r missing some fun for sure. I think Indian roads are not suitable for fast driving. I have experianced it and i know how bad the bus drivers or the truck drivers can be.
These people are always in hurry and causes lot of accidents.
So i think if u drive, avoid the national highways and drive cautiously.
Cheers,

I love to drive fast but it's just too dangerous nowadays, there are too many other people on the roads doing the same. Everyday in my local newspaper people are being killed in road crashes, especially young people. This can never be good.

Hi,
Yea population is increasing day by day. I think there is a differance between rash driving and fast driving.
Fast driving in a free road is fun. U cant hurt anyone and i feel good, enjoying music in my car and a fast ride.
I am not a rash driver by any means.
Cheers,
Tutul
