She definetly needs to be fixed (spayed). Look up an animal shelter or low cost spay and neuter clinic to have her fixed. It will also help in not having unwanted kittens for we have enough of that in this world. Besides that, it's a benefit to her health as well for she'll less likely get cervical cancer too.

Shes in heat and wants a male. So she markes her teritory hoping a male will find it and come to her. If she only does this when shes in heat GET HER SPAYED!!! its better for her anyway. If your not a breeder then spay her. Cats can get cancer of there woman parts like cervics, overies, uterus. Spaying removes everything and no chance of cancer later in life. So much healthier for the cat and then she wont spray everywhere!!

Like the poster before me said getting the cat spaded really worked for us. Before that we used a spray that stoped the cat from spraying on things. I don't remember the name though it has been a while. The whole spraying thing was just annoying.

well, getting her spayed is the very first thing you should do. and hopefully the behavior hasn't set in ... that might be a problem. if so, come back here and maybe we can help with that. but yes, the very first thing you have to do is get her fixed. :-D

One good product I've tried (and it worked!) is: "Comfort Zone". It's a feline behavior modification plug-in, with "Feliway." Feliway is supposed to mimic the natural facial pheromone in cats. Basically, it reduces (and sometimes stops completely) urine marking, vertical scratching, and other not acceptable to human behaviors.
I bought mine a couple of years ago. It worked for several of my cats, but also be aware it did NOT work for a couple other of my cats. I purchased mine from PetCo, but I'm sure the other good pet stores, like PetsMart would have it. You have to buy the full kit (bottle of Feliway & plug-in unit) first - this should last about One month. After that, you only have to buy the re-fill bottle.
