Hi alamode!
Hope "Hourglass" would be much better than Paper Monsters.
I did like the two songs that came out from Sticky Floors single
Stand Up and Maybe. peace:0

I had to listen to it several times, to get DM out of my head enough to appreciate DAVE! I found that as time went on, I liked the songs more and more. And after seeing him in the smaller theatre, with what he put into the songs live (where he is the best!), I really could get what he was doing with the album.
The 'Kingdom' video is out now on MySpace and YouTube... he's rockin' it a bit more this album. I have a player set up on my MySpace page that will have the songs as soon as they're released. I'll be able to really concentrate on each one, really 'get to know' them. Since he won't be touring ' Hourglass', I'm sure the songs will come up on the next DM tour... I need to sing along!

Dave released his first solo album, 'Paper Monsters', in 2003 and toured with it in smaller venues... great because we could get closer to the stage!
Depeche Mode has never gone anywhere-- Dave Gahan, Martin Gore and Andy Fletcher have kept it together since 1980, releasing great albums, and giving concerts all over the world that are always sold out... their fan base is HUGE!
People who rely on the 'hype machine' to supply their 'idols' believe that DM is old news... my family and I go to every concert we can, and if you go to myspace or youtube, you can find all the great videos. They get better by the year!!

I love Dave and Depeche Mode!!! Thanks for the tip about YouTube and their videos! I plan to check that out. As to the person who didn't know Dave Gahan and Depeche Mode - I've found most people know them from their 80's hit "People Are People".
I've been a Depeche Mode fan since 1985. Rock on!
