Which type of face powder do you use or prefer? Loose or pressed? I personally an my not sure which I prefer. I use both. I have loose mineral powder that I use when I put my makeup on in the morning, and I have a regular talc pressed powder that I keep in my purse for touch-ups. I used to use only pressed poweder but my sister insisted that loose powder was better and gives better coverage, plus you get 14g of loose powder for $14 and you only get 9g of the same powder pressed for $19, so the difference in price is quite large. Which type of powder do you use any why? Do you think the loose poder realy gives better coverage?

Right now I have to use liquid foundation first and then pressed powder. I cannot afford to try that mineral powder. I have heard a lot of people really like it.Every time I find the perfect mix,the company quits making it.I think I used to use Neutrogena pressed powder and poof!,they quit making it. I asked the company about it and they told me that they also owned CoverGirl.I am not happy with what I am forced to buy. I do have to say that the Revlon Color Stay foundation works good for me but sheesh! $10 per small bottle. The bottle got smaller last year(?). I am lucky I can even afford make up ut I am one of those women that looks better with.LOL!

I find that Walmart is the most affordable place to buy Physician's Formula Mineral makeup. It is expensive, almost $20 for a pressed powder, but it's better for your skin. I try to buy makeup and everything else one sale or in gift packs to save on $$$. Just today I picked up a gift pack with a pressed powder, a loose finishing powder and a blush, all Physician's Formula Mineral makeup, for $20....all that stuff would be like $60 all bought separate. I didn't need makeup right now but I have this closet where I stockpile things that I use when I see them on sale....in the long run I save a tonne of $$$ that way.

I used to use loose powder, but now I always use pressed powder instead. Pressed powder seems more convenient since I can put it in my purse, and whenever I use loose powder, I always seem to get way too much on and it's harder to make it even.

I agree with you. I find that it is very difficult to control the amount of powder that I am applying when useing loose powder, I prefer pressed powder but I am trying to learn how to use loose powder because you get so much more for your money, and the professional makeup people will tell you that it is supposed to give more even coverage. I think the main problem is the brush, it is too stiff, I keep forgetting when I am at Walmart but I need to get a nice soft powder brush.

I use pressed powder ontop of my foundation. I have only used loose a few times. Pressed is easier and more convenient for myself to use....

To give a better coverage, it has to be the foundation. There are liquid foundation or foundation powder. If I use liquid foundation, then I would use loose powder to finish and bring pressed powder out for touch up. But if I use foundation powder, then I don't use loose powder and pressed powder. Basically loose powder and pressed powder are the same thing, the latter is pressed so that people could brings it out easily. In the summer time, I mostly use foundation powder myself. But in the drier/ winter time, I use either liquid foundation/ bare escentials foundation powder (loose powder form).
